Where did it go that it took 20 minutes to find it? If mine is not immediately visible on my couch or on the table next to the couch, then it fell in the couch cushions. I know this because I only use it the couch. Why would I remove it from the room where the TV is?

No, 6 iPhones over the past 15 years with no case and no apple care.

Insurance for a relatively inexpensive repair is not worthwhile for me, especially knowing there is a virtually 0% chance I will ever use it. It's not like I'm insuring a $40,000 car or a $300,000 house.

It’s a great idea but incredibly unreliable and frustrating. I had to turn it off.

Why did you miss the appointments? They are displayed in the calendar. You can have them displayed in a Home Screen widget. You get the same sound, banner, badge, Lock Screen, and Notification Center notifications in all iOS apps.

  • Marvis Pro in addition to Music
  • Fantastical in addition to Calendar & Reminders
  • MultiTimer instead of the timer function in the Clock app
  • Google Maps in addition to Maps

Most of Apple’s apps are lacking advanced tools and features. I have to look for those things somewhere else.

If I was a heavy or even moderate email user, I would be using something other than the Mail app. It handles attachments worse than any other app I have ever seen. It’s a disgrace that it can’t return to the inbox after deleting a message. The only reason I use it is because I can’t scroll the full length of an email from the lock screen notification banner without opening the app. No other mail app can do that. I delete 80% of my mail from the lock screen.

Other companies are not relevant. I own an Apple product, not a Google or a Samsung or a Dell product. I expect my hardware and software to work in a certain way. My expectations are based on the product I own, not products that someone else sells.

I went from an SE to a much bigger and much heavier XR. That took maybe a week to adjust. I went from an XR to a slightly smaller and noticeably lighter 12 Pro. That took about a day to adjust.

It didn’t break or crack, and it still works fine? Sounds tough enough to me.

I have zero cases

New iOS versions are very ram intensive. My XR with 3GB ram had no problem with iOS 15 but could barely handle iOS 16 or 17. The 11 or 12 with 4GB aren't much better on iOS 17.

The models with 6GB ram (12 Pro, 13 Pro, all 14 models, 15 non-Pro models) are like a night & day comparison, but I'm sure these won't be enough for future iOS versions. 15 Pro models are the first ones with 8GB ram. You'll probably need that by the time iOS 19 rolls around.

I have no problem hearing the new sound. I think it’s a much bigger deal that you can no longer choose ringtones for alert sounds or alert sounds for ringtones.

I bought my first one in 2012 and replaced it in 2020. I still have several years to go on this one.
