You know how people make jokes about Thatcher and Regan's graves being gender neutral bathrooms?

Who do you think qualifies, or will qualify, for that title here in Australia?

George Pell, until Howard croaks anyway.

He was a strong contender in my mind as well but he's probably not buried here. I haven't done the research to know for sure.

He's buried in St. Mary's Cathedral's crypt, in Sydney.

Perfect. It would be easy for them to erect signs there as well.

Rupert qualifies as #1 if he is buried here or if any monuments are raised.

I'm of the opinion that if you're not an Australian, you shouldn't qualify for this title, regardless of where you get burried.

Was he not born here? He started out in Adelaide so I thought he was Australian enough. Chances are he won't be buried here though.

He literally made the choice to renounce his Australian citizenship. In my mind, that makes him less Australian than some random person who happens to have been born non-Australian and stayed that way.

You are correct and he did do this - but it was purely a move to allow him to own broadcast rights in the USA. He needed US citizen to do that, and it didn't really affect him in any other way, so he did it. He still maintained a base in Australia (as well as UK and USA) for the rest of his life.

Is he still disqualified?

He cared more about getting broadcast rights in the USA than being an Australian. Yes, he's absolutely disqualified IMO.

I'd still piss on his grave tho, but not if he was on fire.

He's another strong contender. People can use his office in whatever his next gig is

My vote goes to Sir John Kerr.

He would be a strong contender. On a related note I thought Menzies would be appropriate. Not because he was overly horrible, but because everytime conservatives want name some new think tank or something they name it after him.
