Yeah, the EPA estimate for Tesla have somehow managed to be well, well out of wack with real-world numbers. The other manufacturers the range is actually achievable if you drive efficiently.

I know Ford was conservative enough that I can come close to the official rating on my Mach-E despite not driving at all efficiently.

Same with Chevy. My Bolt EV has a range of 259 miles but when the weather isn’t terrible I usually get around 290.

TLDR: Tesla's software is probably confusing and Tesla should have addressed the software issue instead of trying to bury it, but overall the article seems to be confused about a lot of things and the cars are still among the best, if not the best, on the range aspect.
