So drinking a real-world cow's milk is ok, but drinking a Zootopia cow's milk would not be ok because... the Zootopia cow is presumably a full member of society who earns a living by consensually being milked?

[–] [email protected] 53 points 9 months ago (14 children)

It would be a little strange to eat ice cream from consensually milked women tbh

[–] [email protected] 86 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Well then you definitely don't wanna google that.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 9 months ago (1 children)

OK I'll add that to the list of things I'll never google.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 9 months ago

You should live a little and Google it ;)

[–] [email protected] 46 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Why?

If the women are fine with it, get a wage from it and can quit any time they choose to, where is the problem?

And just to add to the pile: humans can lactate without the need for pregnancy - even males - and some women can develop a condition called hyperlactation where the body goes full throttle on producing milk, beyond any needs of an infant. And never stop, in very extreme cases.

Sounds a good deal more sustainable and fair than cows milk and a heck lot more efficient than milking trees.

Maybe I'm being cynical but I think humans would find a way to exploit this market and make women suffer, just like we can do with cattle.

Inject women with hormones to make them produce more milk is an example I can think of.

This is why we need a strong, massive milkers union

Humans. Every other evolutionary species was there only humans were missing. Why? We were being farmed.

So… animals can’t drink animal milk but humans can?

[–] [email protected] 33 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (2 children)

Humans even drink human milk. Crazy how that works

Nothing funnier than people starting to realise how weird it is to drink milk

[–] [email protected] 25 points 9 months ago

I'm more weirded out about people thinking "breast milk" is gross, even calling it that instead of human milk is weird.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 9 months ago (4 children)
[–] [email protected] 20 points 9 months ago (1 children)

It's not, almost everyone has drunk human milk. It's actually not that bad.

I was fucked by Nestlé and didn't got to taste my mom's boobs.

They had a nudist colony in the movie where they very clearly showed rears and crotches that had nothing there. So why was Judy so flustered by their nudity? 🤔 Perhaps it wasn't because they were naked, but that there were all freaks that lacked buttholes and genitals.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Almost any meat or dairy products they’d be eating would questionable in that movie. How are the carnivore animals surviving? Do they just eat tofu? Or is there some sort of population of slave animals that are kept un-evolved that are born & bred for meat/dairy products?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

This is exactly what the movie explains. There's an underground black market dealing with kidnapping and illegal meat.

Or am I confusing this with Beastars?

[–] [email protected] 17 points 9 months ago

Pretty sure this is beastars

Humans obviously. They just didn't show the farms because they didn't want to scare the children.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 9 months ago (3 children)

Probably the same as who gets milked in real life. Animals drink milk too I don't understand why people are constantly thrown off by this, it's just as normal if not more normal to drink milk in the animal kingdom.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 9 months ago (6 children)

Farming milk involves forcefully insemination cows to get pregnant so they produce milk in the first place. Often times in factory farming, their calves are taken away for "repurposing". Combine that with the typical living conditions for the average milk cow and it wouldn't be hard to imagine why people that have any idea of how the industry functions would be thrown off by this.

Imagine human women being treated like this for the milk they produce so that you get to enjoy a cheap pleasure.

It's not the drinking milk thats weird. It's the fact that they would have to be farming milk from intelligent animals to get it. Like if cows could talk and were as smart as humans I think people would find farming milk from them a little weird.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 9 months ago (4 children)

The milk drinking is just as weird, since no other animal continues drinking milk after passing their baby state. Only humans do that.

Who's to say cows can't be milked in Zootopia?
If you can earn money by donating blood and organs (i.e. part of a kidney or liver), guys can earn money donating sperm, women donating eggs, then why couldn't a Zootopia cow (or other mammals for that matter) donate their milk?

Can someone please explain to me what predators eat in Zootopia? Surely they can't survive on plants alone.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 9 months ago (3 children)

Bugs, birds, reptiles. In Zootopia, only mammals are anthropomorphic.
