And just like that Paris joins the list of cities that have been completely burned to the ground according to corporate media. Just a charred Wasteland like Portland Oregon and Washington DC and New York City and so many others. Nothing left.
1/3 of France: I'm gonna burn down Paris
2/3s of France: I'm gonna vote for redistribution to the top even harder
Uh huh. And yet this is what they voted in.
What vote do you think you're talking about?
10 years ago, he was making (some) leftist promises (and right wing too yes), and the actual leftist party (which isn't much left anymore today) was tying the noose around its own neck and breaking its own legs after ruling for 5 years and sliding to the right. Things burned then too because of that (in fact, it was precisely because the leftist president increased retirement age to 64). So he won 10 years ago.
Then 5 years ago, he made sure to screw the left and push to set the far right as his opponent in the last election round. So he easily won that too because people don't want the far right.
There were regional votes too that were supposed to force him to get a left wing prime minister, but he just said nu-uh and kept pushing right.
Now things burn again.
Because this misses the third frame, where Macron responds "oops, we're completely out of money now because you refused to accept raised taxes and refused to accept reduced expenditures. So you will work until you die because there's no old age pension at all any more."
France is kind of screwed.
Wait. Is there a fire in Paris? I didn't see any news about that! I hope everything is ok!
Paris is fine, just another protest against fascism creeping in again. The French know how to protest fairly effectively, if a bio violently. They are regulars.
What should get more attention was that citizens stormed the Bastille again... That didn't work out too well for the French leadership last time it happened.
