Democrats are the closest thing to actual existing Italian Fascism than any other ideology in the USA.

Liberals: At least you can protest Democrats! Get engaged, hope and change! Biden/Harris alumni: Democracy isn't real and we don't give a fuck what our own voters want.

This guy is such a fucking dumbass dipshit. The whole architecture around policymaking is arbitrary. Policymaking is not a goal unto itself rather it's supposed to serve a purpose. But by abstracting away policy and the goal of real world improvement in people's lives the elites dogs ie the political class can excuse away their refusal to do anything for the public good. Just compare how fast policy that serves ruling class interests is implemented to say free public healthcare. Anyway as always God damn America and hopefully it falls apart asap because imho it will never and can never be a positive force in the world but rather the exact opposite acab

Really weird thing to post. Somehow saying "the dems are not responsive to their base and do not believe in democracy at all" in defense of the dems? What does this guy want? A million luigis?

“Sorry democratic base, but you don’t get a say! We’re just going to be republicans!”

“Wait, why are you a non-voter? If you don’t vote for me, someone who is a carbon copy of the GOP, you’ll get the GOP!”

Gotta love when liberals say exactly what we all know, and tbh what history says about the country, but present it as a good thing.

Capitalist elections are simply a series of baffles and pressure releases to ensure that revolutionary fervour never grows beyond engagement with the system

ok so why should we allow this system to continue existing?

A 2014 study by professors Martin Gilens and Benjamin Page concluded that average American citizens have a near-zero, statistically non-significant impact on U.S. government policy

reminds me of the story Yanis Varoufakis tells about how they told him that something as ephemeral elections aren't allowed to change your economic policy. so what is democracy for then? just shuffling ghouls around?

Wolfgang Schäuble, a powerful advocate of austerity policy in Europe, succinctly summarized the extent to which electoral democracy is subordinate: “Elections cannot be allowed to change economic policy.” [18] One Party States and Democratic Centralism are not the result of lack of sophistication or cronyism, they are a proven bulwark that acknowledges that political power will often need to be exerted against the will of Capital, and so the wielders of said power must necessarily undergo a much more serious vetting process than a popularity contest.

Complaining loud enough used to work because it used to represent a threat of action. But then someone noticed no one actually did anything

And what do policymakers look to when developing policy?

Stink tank lobbyists and polls. Polls matter. When you lost to Trump AGAIN, it was because Dems ignored public opinion and polls. Then they go into denial and abusive shaming.
