I'd always visualised sexuality as at least a triangle of straight/gay/ace, and everyone would be a point inside the triangle? Just a "straight line" seems too simple.
No doubt someone can suggest another axes to make it the sexuality three-sided pyramid, but not more than that, please; too early in the morning to try and visualise a hyperpyramid.
Even that is an oversimplification. For example bi people who only like cis people.
People are just into random sexy stuff and we lump them into groups.
All I know is I wanna fuck Sandy Loam whoever they are.
What about a gay line?
I've maybe explained it a bit badly - I was thinking "like the soil triangle", but for sexuality. So you'd have the "100% gay corner" rather than "100% sandy".
edit: oh, yeah. A "straight line" between 100% straight and 100% gay would be too simple, in that there should be more options. Should have used a different term, but what I mean is that you can't just assign people a single number here, people are more complex than that.

We've got a finite set here, so that would imply there is a gayest person at any given moment of time. But yeah, I would expect it to have multiple variables and not guarantee existence of the gayest for all parameters, the chosen one if you will
