I frequently vote just to balance out comments - Unless you're being a true asshole you should always have more upbears than your replies. Otherwise it's immediately clear to you that people didn't actively didn't like your post and that's mean

I rarely upbear unless I posted or commented, at which point I try to upvote everyone who responded. Sometimes I'll even save a post but not upvote it. You got my upbear here, though

The only things I consciously don’t upbear are like the repost bots and stuff. If I read it I try to upbear. Sometimes I forget before I move off the page. If you reply to me I try to always upbear. I also like posting things like “this is a good post” because it feels more personal. Edie, this is a good post.
