Depends on the country, only on free counties, in other places when some people commented certain death and they were sent to jail, lost visas… so I would be afraid to say anything when this happen, will be only quiet in my corner waiting to get democracy back.

like with osama bin laden , eventhough he is a creation by usa/eu both indirectly and directly.

[-] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 1 points 8 minutes ago

No? Nobody outside the US cared like at all.

Ahh yes, 1945, when a huge portion of the adult population carried battery powered tube radios around in their pockets.

[-] thatsTheCatch@lemmy.nz 5 points 3 hours ago

OH I thought they were taking about Jesus...

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 10 points 4 hours ago

Trouble is, there's a long line of equally toxic shitheads ready to succeed him. You think Vance or Johnson will be any better?

[-] spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works 18 points 3 hours ago

I don't think either of them will get the automatic allegiance of a cult. One can hope, anyway.

[-] Ryanmiller70@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 hours ago

Vance definitely doesn't have anything to pull people to him. Like as much as I hate Trump, I at least see the dumb things he does his cult likes. Vance has none of that. It's like if Jeffries tried to replace Mamdani.

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 3 points 2 hours ago

Let's hope not. They're both charisma vacuums. Not that I think Trump is especially charismatic either, but his personality is certainly large and hard to ignore, unlike those two gormless non-entities.

[-] RoidingOldMan@lemmy.world 40 points 6 hours ago

Pretty sure Hitler's death was international news.

[-] teslekova@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 hour ago

It didn't spread as fast as this one will though. Every timezone will get the news immediately once it breaks anywhere.

[-] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 18 points 5 hours ago

and so was 9/11, and Katrina.

both showed incredible, international outpourings of support, generosity, and kindness, and opened the door to a potential better future.

and both opportunities were frittered away on stupidity and arrogance.

[-] raspberriesareyummy@lemmy.world 7 points 3 hours ago

Comparing 9/11 or Katrina to the end of WW2 is a tad inaccurate to say the least.

[-] Jax@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 hours ago

It's also simply untrue - it took much more time for information to travel, and no one was 'celebrating' 9/11 aside from... well, you should know the types.

[-] mfed1122@discuss.tchncs.de 18 points 5 hours ago

My thoughts exactly. I will totally celebrate Trump's death, but anyone who thinks its going to change anything for the better in any substantial way is sadly oblivious. In fact it frustrates me that so many people seem to think everything will be fine once Trump dies. Already the seeds of inaction and complacency are sewn.

[-] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 1 points 5 minutes ago* (last edited 5 minutes ago)

You don't get it. Without dear leader they fall apart. They don't have anyone to replace him, at least no one their voters care even half as much about as him. The cult will die with him and that is a HUGE opportunity to capitalize on.

[-] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 8 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

the problem is that trump has advanced the republican agenda by 300 miles (to use a convenient conversational example), and when he dies, the advance will falter and fall back to maybe 250 miles.

and the fools will celebrate that as a return to normalcy and a victory, ignorant to the 250 miles of advancement they made, secured, and locked down by their complacency.

Kissinger was a pretty good starter.

[-] Emerald@lemmy.world 9 points 5 hours ago

Bibi's celebration will be bigger

You guys are a bit optimistic if you think Mitch McConnell's absence isnt a test run for something.

Oh there's definitely going to be some celebrating going on and I imagine it'll probably be people getting fired and fights at work because it'll be a bunch of sad weirdos upset because their king is gone . Then it's going to be the ones who'll swear that he was "taken out" . It'll be a celebration but also a bunch of weird shit going on .

[-] atx_aquarian@lemmy.world 1 points 11 minutes ago

Ah goddammit, yeah, this is the right prediction. Shit.

[-] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 86 points 9 hours ago

Also, without mentioning a name, we all know who this is about.

[-] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 48 points 8 hours ago

He's so stupid, you even know who I mean when I say "he's so stupid".

While that will certainly happen, it won't end the environment that created him or the interests he represents. A brief respite, is as optimistic as I dare to be.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 59 points 9 hours ago

I'm just looking forward to not hearing him voice his pedo rapist opinions anymore. It's a particular frequency that just won't exist anymore once his pedo mouth is permanently silenced.

I love how everyone knows exactly who this is referring to without including his name.
