Way too fuckin' close, if you ask me.
She out spent him 9 to 1, it's pretty good given that
Can everyday Americans please hurry up and connect the dots finally?
Everyday Americans are amongst the stupidest people I've ever met. Don't hold your breath.
While I won't argue against the ignorance of the 50th percentile, I'd encourage you to consider that for many it may not be willful.
By design, more and more people are forced to focus on their immediate needs. As more Americans than ever before live paycheck to paycheck with hardly a thousand dollars in savings, how can they justify spending time learning when they need to be at their second job so their kids don't go homeless?
If you write people off as stupid then the problem is intractable. You can't cure stupid. But you can inform the ignorant.
Who exactly do you think is voting for people like El-Sayed? Venezuelans perhaps?
What kind of take even is this?
My point could have been clearer.
I was talking about figuring out that billionaires are the actual enemy, everywhere..... it makes it pretty easy to figure out who's really on your side once you understand how capitalism actually works.
It doesn't matter who, it doesn't matter where. If there's a billionaire, there's a crime against the common man being committed. Period.
figuring out that billionaires are the actual enemy
But what if I am one some day, Mr smarty human?
You have one candidate who says they refuse to take corporate money because they're here to serve the people and another candidate who says how is such a shame how the political system works and it should be changed but in the meantime that's the system and they'll take the corporate money while telling you to not get your hopes up about changing how the system works.
And somehow this is a close race...
Clearly there are a lot of dots for a significant portion of Americans to connect.
Is Haley Stevens a republican in democrat’s clothing?
She's a bigot so yeah probably.
unofficially withdrew
What does that mean? How would that even work? They just said "I quit" without doing any paperwork?
Pro tip: if she had hypothetically won the primary you should still vote for her/him because the Republican candidate is still worse.
News like this makes me hopeful that one day, my area will be able to vote out its republican congressman. It doesn't look like it will be this time, but hopefully soon.
You don’t “accept” Super PAC money.
Explain, please.
Not OP, but I read it as "accepting" that kind of money equals getting bought with it and by the people who put the money in the PAC.
I think OP means you can't stop a PAC from smearing your opponent, and you can't stop them from promoting your exact platform.
It's all a big slushy mess, on purpose, intentionally making this question extremely nuanced
Work Reform
A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.
