Scrapping Blade is how you know it's just racism
It's impossible to fuck up Blade unless it's on purpose

When Don Cheadle replaced Terrence Howard as War Machine for "Iron Man 2", then-Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter said nobody would notice because black people all "look the same".
To be fair, it was an upgrade. Also his first line is "it's me, I'm here, deal with it" fully calling the fact that it's a different actor so Perlmutter is just a racist piece of trash.
I liked Terrence Howard as Rhodie more, him and RDJ had a better chemistry as buddies imo. I fully acknowledge that Don Cheadle is probably a better person and I seem to be in the minority with this opinion, though.
Kang got hit on a metoo rap, but losing blade is a crime. And wonder man would have been some dope shit
I do think it's funny that Kang, a character who is infamous for having a multitude of appearances from his various incarnations through history, simply couldn't be portrayed by a different actor
they made the brilliant decision in Loki that every version of him had to be played by the same guy
They could’ve easily retconned that if they really wanted to. I’m not really sure all that many people watched that show anyway.
I totally get that Kang got scrapped because Majors is an abuser. With that said, as you said, Blade would have been an easy win and scrapping three movies with Black main protagonists still smells like bullshit to me.
I believe Blade had some problems with developing it (aka Disney/Marvel didn't give a shit and didn't push to get the movie made except for just early casting and script writting). Then that Deadpool movie happened with Wesley Snipes returning as Blade (that movie was just a bunch of marvel references the movie), and then Disney decided to scrap the Blade reboot.
I heard that the extras in Sinners wore costumes that were originally going to be used for the Blade reboot.
That could be true. I think a Blade reboot was sort of going to be hard to make because you already have Disney being racist and having zero interest in POC heroes/characters. And there were the Original Blade Trilogy Fans who wanted something like the first two Blade movies instead of the usual MCU stuff.
I didn't even wanna watch it, but they could have just recast majors. They already did it before, why the weird insistence on not recasting people?
It's huge bullshit. They put blade in a game! But no movie? Shit sucks
They put blade in a game!
...also recently canceled.
They also dropped monica rambeau after the marvels. No mention of her on doomwar also no Storm too
Plus bringing Chris Evans back as Captain America when Anthony Mackie is right there lol.
Marvel Studios, frantically turning a big dial labled "Racism"
In the 1950s "Commie Smasher" Captain America and Bucky, specifically William Burnside and Jack Monroe, fought against the Soviet spy, the Second Red Skull (because the stories were written as straightforward Red Scare propaganda, this Red Skull was a ruthless communist operative working to destroy America from within). Their comics heavily targeted Soviet and Asian communist threats during the Red Scare, Marvel later retconned the characters' jingoistic extremism to critique 1950s McCarthyism.
When Stan Lee and Jack Kirby revived the original Steve Rogers in 1964 (The Avengers #4), they established that Rogers had been frozen in ice since 1945. This created a glaring plot hole: Who were the Captain America and Bucky fighting communists in the 1950s? In 1972, writer Steve Englehart solved this discrepancy by fundamentally altering who these characters were, switching their narrative roles entirely. They were unmasked as fanatic copycats, later named William Burnside and Jack Monroe. Burnside had legally changed his name and undergone plastic surgery to look exactly like Steve Rogers. They were reimagined as tragic, terrifying villains who represented right-wing extremism.
The duo traveled to predominantly Black areas, specifically launching violent, unprovoked physical attacks against innocent residents in Harlem, New York and Watts, Los Angeles. Because of their deep Red Scare brainwashing, the pair viewed any societal changes, including the early Civil Rights Movement and the increased assertiveness of African Americans, as a literal Soviet plot to overthrow America. They violently beat Black citizens while falsely accusing them of being communist spies or "pinkos" trying to destroy the country.
It's no longer open season on all suckheads 😞
I saw this image before, but guys Wonderman got released: https://www.imdb.com/pt/title/tt21066182/ they changed the name to Magnum, and nobody watched it.
The series is just called Magnum in Brazil though, thats how the character was localized there. Elsewhere it's still called Wonderman.

The translations of super hero names always confuses me. Some are translated, other are not, some doesn't make any sense, why the fuck Magnum?

Most comics are read by kids or teens, and back in the day in LatAm there were laws promoting local language (Spanish and Portuguese) over anglophilic words. Which is why we got stuff like Bruce Wayne = Bruno Diaz, and Speedy = Ricardito. In the 1990s I believe Panini (the italian company) bought the publishing rights to the DC and Marvel and changed a lot of names back to the Original ones.
why the fuck Magnum?
Wonderman would probably be confusing due to the sound W make in portuguese, besides translating to Homem-Maravilha would make people think it was a knockoff of Wonder Woman. Magnum is just a random cool name they though of it back in the day, also it could be a reference to Magnum P.I. idk lol.
No yeah at least one season of wonderman is out, I watched it, it was fine. But they cancellled season 2
Did they made season 2 of anything besides Loki?
Some MCU defenders were claiming it was Mahershala Ali fault Blade wasnt made like he had tyranical control over Kevin Feige the dude that runs the MCU
I forgot the mcu was still a thing. Their movies aren’t doing as well over here as they used to
"What do microcontrollers have to do- Oh, Marvel Comic Universe. Got it."
I thought the Kang thing was because Majors wound up being outed as a domestic abuser. But that is still a curious pattern, for sure...
