Let's get one out of the way first, I am not looking for a discussion how this or that is useful, I am tired and I am here for a laugh with anyone who is ready to engage on a humanist level instead of technological and empirical scientific point of view, especially looking for my fellow luddites.

I hate how people think socialism is a magic bullet that can solve anything and everything automatically and they need to remove capitalism and put in socialism then not do any other work. China doesn't have a magic spell, if there aren't the problems (in a technical sense) that others are having then there is always a catch, be it distillation or numbers skewed by companies, our organizational efforts shouldn't be towards making people like technology, especially s technology philosophy of which has roots in capitalist alienation, consumerism, and misanthropy.

Watching everyone willingly cast their judgement and autonomy into a probabilistic text generator has been quite the trip. It has been making me wonder if there are lots of people out there who genuinely detest thinking and will do anything in their power to not think at all. I feel like the odd one out actually liking figuring things out or learning new skills. My other theory is the desire to dictate demands to something and have it do it… like an employee… or a slave.

Regardless of how supposedly well ai is done i feel like anyone willingly discarding their own autonomy and judgement to anything is a really bad idea.

Really not to mention this weird love for technology, like you can see people praise chinese smartphones like Huawei, Xiaomi, etc, same for other things like they're still under the logic of capitalism if there really was that much of a people centered governance then graphene batteries which don't go bad would have been researched and implemented. No place is 100% people centered under the global capitalist regime so how can someone praise one policy without being critical at all? Like Facebook can be state owned in China for all I care and will it be good if people's lives and relationships are reduced to algorithms? So many people want to be like 'I am done and now someone else will think for me'

Who is saying that socialism is some kind of magical cure-all for society's ills? Have you been listening to utopians or what?

For Marxists, socialism is simply the first step in a difficult process.

That said, yes, the AI simps are extremely funny.

You just get it by people's conduct, if you bring up any problem that isn't just some basic issue, people say 'it's only a problem with capitalism, under socialism it won't be a problem' AI is one example but you can see it for many many things, from discrimination against disabled people to issues of nuclear family centered laws, you can hear people say 'you can just not work under socialism and stay in, police won't hunt you down' or 'everyone can have nuclear family under socialism so it won't be a problem'

i don't think it's utopian to think that with vastly superior social and political conditions that a lot of problems of today would be diminished or disappear.

the mechanisms behind the problems with AI displacing workers, ruining the environment, giving psychosis to alienated people, or made up bullshit about IP laws would impact a socialist society very differently.

e.g worker displacement doesn't have the same impact on someone's livelihood, socialist governments are more environmentally responsible than corporations, the kind of alienation that drives someone to a chatbox would be much more rare and positive interventions would be more available, and IP law would be completely different.

AI is, in theory, is much less problematic (mostly in terms of the fact that the financial incentives around lying about it's use cases disappears, reducing its overall usage, and that we wont have to deal with the issue of "IP for me but not for thee") much less of an issue under a socialist economy. Not unproblematic, but less society level catastrophy problematic. The output of the average number generator will be different if the averages fed to it are different.

However, I have never heard anyone who is serious about socialism say "everyone can have nuclear family under socialism" nor "you can just not work under socialism and stay in."

Again, who is saying this? Who are you talking to? Who are they citing to support such claims about the nature of socialism and revolutionary action? Are they just randos saying shit or do they actually have some level of organizational capacity to affect power?

I don't want to mention names because they're prominent media and intellectual figures, they're quite serious about socialism and you can infer these things by the way they talk and skirte around certain. For example when the topic of chronically ill people came up the person said 'a socialist society is a healthy society and one you should try to be as healthy as you can be to embody' and when the topic of marriage came up the person said 'the problem is under capitalism you can't really have a nuclear family on one income but under socialism it won't be a problem' like there's never a conversation about allowing chronically ill people to exist in public spaces as they are and not systemically baring them from public life and there's never a conversation about how why should law define relationship between two human beings in the first place? Like the fact their imagination never goes beyond 'yea this bad thing will be less bad under socialism' tells me everything about their project.

Sounds like streamer bullshit, but idk, I have never heard such rubbish at anything involving the PSL. Idk how you seriously call yourself a scientific socialist without at least challenging the idea of marriage as an extremely legitimate social relationship, it's one of the bases of Marx and Engels thoughts.
