I've been playing the sequel, getting it 3 days early as a Kickstarter supporter.
I really really can't stop thinking about the amazing fantasy world this game sets up. I spent all of the last two days just playing Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian, grinding at 3 different runs of it.
I think I still prefer Brante because it's gentler thematically&content wise, and the routes are more distinct. Jerian: one linear route with a lot of little branches going off all throughout the story, Brante: three distinct routes define the game, each with their own rich variety, but the bulk of this variety occurs in chapters 3, and 4 out of 5.
Prince Jerian is also a fundamentally more evil character than Brante. Even though the characters are what you make them,
Jerian can casually kill creatures and people at inappropriate times, and the violence is graphic. But he's nowhere near as bad as his brother.
The discord has been really fun as well, and talking with other fans has gotten me into using discord again. Great community around this game. It spawns massive history and philosophical debates.
