This is your friendly reminder that most spiders do not want to kill you and would rather eat mosquitoes and other annoying bugs in your house. :) Spiders are (usually) bros!
Spiders cannot even envision you. You're just a huge thing, maybe a wall, to them, not at all part of their universe.
Jumping spiders at the very least do. It's likely even more do as well.

It appears to recognise the human body structure as biological. But would it discern the various parts when confronted with an actual gigantic human, as opposed to a tiny one on a monitor? That's not clear at all.
True, but that bleeds into all sorts of messy edge questions and theoreticals. I think it's safe to hypothesize for now through with what's available for anecdotal evidence and observed studies that they do recognize us and potentially some other large animals as some form of living mass/creature and not just a wall.
I love spiders.
They're actually really nice. A lot of them learn your schedule and they do their best to not come out when you're around.
I'd take the can and lighter and use them on that guy instead. Save the spider the trouble.
Agreed! Spiders are super cool little critters that do so much good. I followed the coolest green lynx spider in my backyard last year, she went from a tiny baby missing 2 legs to this big hulking mama that ate her mate and produced so many babies. I loved her so much π
Iβve never understood peopleβs fear of spiders. They are so small, what is there to be afraid of? π€·ββοΈ
My wife's arachnophobic, and apparently the way their legs move has a lot to do with it. Jumping spiders, with their stubby little legs, don't creep her out like other spiders do.
Yeah, thatβs what Iβve heard. I guess I wasnβt born with that fear because Iβve always gravitated towards creepy crawlies ever since I was a little girl. My mom also encouraged my toddler love of bugs, she didnβt let her own fears show because she saw how interested I was in them and didnβt want to hold me back. I know the reason, I just donβt understand the reason for the fear/discomfort if that makes sense.
And jumping spiders are adorable little things π₯°
On a side note, Arachnophobia is one of my favorite movies and I always root for the spiders π€£
"I have a negative feeling when near you. This is equivalent to the right to burn you to death. What an entertaining development!"
Sucks for all the spiders this dude torched to death that coudn't fight back.
I've seen several versions of this comic and I wonder which one is the original but I'm not invested enough to look it up.
