I only post from X dot com, the everything app.

    What is this “twitter”?

Banning twitter posts would be asinine. Hexbear already tried to do that when Elon bought twitter and it failed.

This is because many news agencies, journalists, public figures, and even governments post new information on twitter before any other website.

A twitter post is good as long as the hexbear post gives a link to the tweet and the tweet is from a reliable twitter account.

The worst posts on hexbear are the reposted images and videos from reddit without verifying that the material is legitimate or linking to the original source.

it's always people with 0 posts telling me how to post. I say this to mean that everyone should post more.

Would Twitter screenshots as Beanis thought bubbles still be allowed?

    What about a technical solution?

If someone posts a twitter link the backend should rewrite it to an xcancel link. I think it would be a pretty simple fix that would prevent sending traffic to once of the worst fash sites while also making it easy for people to post links.

I guess they can be relevant, if a public figure posted something bad and then deleted it...

Maybe we need some labelling system (like CW:x.com) so people who don't want to see it can filter it out. (of course would require lemmy to support filters too).
