If we followed your rationale, we'd have daily updates in the price of bananas. Aussies eat bananas, right?
Personally I think the comm is about things of particular interest to Australians, or about Australia. Not general interest items that may also include Australians. But, if people do find it useful, then, great for them.
Is that on top of the already existing 20 or so percent price hike already in AU for most electronics?
I haven't read the article but isn't AI supposed to make workers redundant and therefore everything should be cheaper, no ?

Thankfully, Apple does seem to support its iPads (the expensive models, at least) for a decent amount of time. My partner has a second generation iPad Pro that just received a security patch, 9 years after release. Her 7 year old iPad Mini is also still receiving security patches.
