I find it difficult to believe that a 1991 Geo Metro could possibly be that advanced.

Sorry that was me, I stashed a bunch of raspberry pis in your seat cushions to get them across the border. RAM has gotten too expensive, and I'm not paying any fucking tariffs on top of that.

I think it's wild how much surveillance we accept in Europe from car manufacturers. Teslas and other EVs with cameras everywhere are all over the place. I’m Norwegian, and Teslas are the most popular cars here. I can look out my window and see four to eight Teslas, all of them covered in cameras.

This is because the EU is a neoliberal institution. They still represent capitalism over people, just less so than the vulture capitalism that America or poorer countries accept.

This is nothing new tbh, especially on the Mercedes S-Class. The 2005 W221 already had 80+ control modules depending on the options.

As if I needed even more reasons to not buy a car (other than the obvious "it's extremely expensive" and "even the electric ones require excessive amounts of energy and minerals to produce")

URL formatPost URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefixOpinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefixCountry prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.
