I think generally speaking it's not that people do not want to help it's that international events like the war in iran have had a very serious effect on people's disposable income.
I've been considering making a post about this because if you're outside the US you might not anticipate that people here are doing as rough, nothing compared to what people are going through around the world obviously but pretty much no one I know has anything extra. Every person I know personally in the US right now is dealing with cuts to their resources, several people recently laid off, my hours cut drastically, gas and food prices are becoming unaffordable. I haven't been able to afford things and have contemplated making mutual aid posts but I know many others are struggling even more.
Thank you, brother. I'm very sorry, and you should know that I post every day due to the difficult circumstances we are going through. I hope you can help us improve our situation.
I hope you as well can get help soon and your situation improves. Please know it truly breaks all of our hearts here to see what has been happening in Gaza, I know many of us are putting in as much effort as we are able to to try to change our political situation in the US and other western countries so they cannot support this sort of violence. I pray for you and your families safety.

Moderator Pinning Rules:

Moderators are strictly prohibited from promoting/endorsing/pinning individual mutual aid requests (especially those of their own) as this creates unfair post visibility and could therefore benefit more from that than the standard user. Moderators caught engaging in this behavior will be swiftly removed from the moderator board with extreme prejudice.

Moderators are allowed to pin and crosspost donation requests for large scope issues such as natural disaster relief funds and bail funds ((Example)[https://hexbear.net/post/16574) along with other crowd or moderator-compiled informational resources pertaining to donating or volunteering (Example), so long as the utmost due diligence is done prior to endorsement, especially in the case of directing people to donate to non-profit organizations.

Financial documents of non-profit organizations available to the public must be heavily scrutinized before moderator endorsement, and links to those must also be included in the endorsement post to help the community make their own decision if they should donate.
