Four Corners is telling this story as part of the Brutal Force series, which reveals a worrying rise in complaints and civil suits targeting the NSW Police Force in recent years.

The fact that two supervisor types watched a video, claimed that nothing was done wrong, and then the highest supervisor watched the same damn video and flat out said there needed to be an investigation... and then nothing was done to those supervisors? That's some bullshit. Charges being brought against an officer should mean that everyone who tried to cover for said officer should be shitcanned as well.

Absolutely! Get rid of the rot or the public keep being victimised by thugs.

And this will keep happening because people join the police force in order to be able to hurt people, and are protected by people who also enjoy hurting people who don't want the good times to end

Good on Four Corners for bringing these events to light

Nice that this one resulted in the offending officers being charged, the last one the bad cops got away with it, they had the foresight to turn off their cameras and hospitalise a man who no one cared about

And this will keep happening because people join the police force in order to be able to hurt people,

That was made so clear by the second example with those two absolute psychos assaulting an unarmed, non-threatening, naked woman on a suburban street in broad daylight in front of ambulance staff whilst laughing about it. I actually couldn't believe the Four Corners team showed that footage to the family/friends, even if they thought they wanted ro see it. It would have been so distressing.

I kept thinking she's obviously having a tbing, and did no-one just try and sit down next to her, ask her how she's going, and try to de-escalate and talk her into calmly going with the ambos?

We probably only saw the worst of the footage. Maybe they did try. But it seemed to be all escalation....

I've spoken to some coppers who reckon 80% of their job is dealing with mental health and DV. That is not gonna work.

Not excusing the police actions, but maybe we should resource those areas properly too. There was no need for the police to be there AT ALL.

Agreed the police are the last people you want doing mental health first aid. It’d be like expecting young men to get mental health advice from manosphere influencers.

They tried right at the start, that footage was included. It seemed like the big problems started when she refused help, although they were so cruel and violent from there that I suspect they both had some underlying issues with women. The recurring theme with a lot of these really bad incidents is that it feels like the officers are just waiting for someone to give them the chance to beat the shit out of a person with zero repercussions.
