Just watched the Insiders on the ABC.

There was a nano-second graphic depicting Australia wide energy prices with WA on $25 and SA on $79 dollars and other states at various multiples of the WA price, quite a shocking data set if anybody was allowed time to even read it!

I have known for a while that the eastern states businesses and media make extensive efforts to hide the WA/eastern states price disparity from the people in the east, but this subliminal data flick takes it to a whole new level.

This was soon followed by another bullshit graphic depicting how immigration shot up after COVID.

As immigration stopped virtually during COVID this is a completely misrepresentation and manipulative us of immigration data.

The decline of the ABC as a credible news source is complete!

Leni Riefenstahl will be pleased it has now become just another Murdoch clone.

I didn't see Insiders so I can't comment on the energy graphic but WA retail prices are not very different from East Coast prices. They certainly aren't one third of the SA prices.

It may have been the real time energy prices. However, these can vary wildly across the day depending on the renewable energy production and energy demand.

Insiders is on at 9am eastern which is 8.30am in SA but 6.30am in WA. Live energy prices are going to be much lower in WA at these times because demand is very low. In contrast, I'm writing this at 6.30pm WA time and the live price in WA is $120/MWh but only $20/MWh in SA.

You can see live prices here: https://www.gridiq.com.au/prices

Please God, at least keep Media Watch alive, independent and with some teeth.

I treat it as compulsive viewing.

And it's funny as hell to send to loons that had been ranting about one of the stories that Media Watch eviscerates.

This is where I’m at too. Media Watch really has some journalistic integrity, even having called itself out in the past. Which means it must really piss off certain groups trying to push false narratives.

Immigration did shoot up after COVID……

Just because it stopped for those years doesn’t mean that you get to “carry forward” those missing years numbers to add when the borders open up again lol. Net overseas migration is still significantly higher than pre-COVID.

Admittedly I wasn't paying 100% attention but I'm pretty sure I saw a report on ABC news last night where Alan Kohler had graphs to extremely strongly imply that the birth rate decline was the fault of mobile phones...

O' yeah. It's been decling for a few years. Piece by piece as the funding came/comes from more private sources (or so I'm told by credible sources in film and television). Good PSA here. More people need to get wise and support the likes of Micheal West Media/The West Report & Jordan Shanks/Friendly Jordies.
