It's actually just a singing competition put together by a number of broadcasters who are apart of an international broadcasters union. The title is marketing more than anything.

The absolutely deranged thing is that they established that the Australian public did not vote for Israel (because we have strict anti-burner phone laws preventing Israel agents from spamming).

Then the judges selected by SBS also didn't vote for them, reflecting the popular will of the nation. So it seems like they were picked properly. No mismatch.

so this makes it seem like online and phone voting outside of Australia were definitely rigged

Where's the countries that obviously don't belong in eurovision solidarity?

I like how she says, "Israel got 0 votes." and then just sits there. As if thats a question. Like, yes they got 0, your point is?

Senator, why did the most reviled nation in Eurovision manage to get second place with the “popular vote” and what implications does this have for your own election campaign?

I keep seeing this question raised on other social media and there's always some nerd who jumps in to explain that ackshully it's just that there's some international media group and Australia and Israel are members of it, but that's just the window dressing. Like everybody else said, the real answer is white supremacy.

edit: lol I have now seen this explanation here as well, do better hexbears

The media group you are talking about is European Broadcasting Union and Australia actually is not a part of it, Israel is and thats why they can take part. Interestingly a lot of other middle eastern and north african countries are also members of the EBU and could take part in the eurovision but dont do so because of israeli participation
