Both the kids have been sick this week, which just means I can take another day off with them. Aside from that they've been good.

The grand parents came down to visit, which the kids loved. And we had some good bike time over the weekend. One park we went to has a miniature road section where there are road signs and roundabouts for the kids to get their car brains early.

Then the next day we went to another park because I knew it had been done up in the past couple of years. The bikes were still in the car so we got them out and there was a bike track with bumps for kids to ride over. I didn't even know that was part of the park. I think that was really good for the kids. The track was quite busy with other kids using it as well, so it was a good lesson in situational awareness and sharing the road. They did really well and didn't bump into anyone. We had once incident of a kid rolling backwards down an incline and falling off, but otherwise it was a really good outing.

I might trial the pedal bikes without training wheels for a session. They could just the bikes as balance bikes again, just to get used to the size and weight. It will still be a while off but I think I could get these kids off training wheels pretty soon after they learn how to brake.

Kiddo will be graduating elementary school at the end of next month. We did a parent/teacher tour event of her new middle school and it's very impressive. Outstanding facilities, really nice staff, and maybe my favourite part is that they have a zero tolerance policy for cell phones. No cell phone usage on campus, period. Bravo.

The thing we're looking forward to the most, though, is that the new school is going to save us hours of commuting time every week. At this point we're just counting down the days lol.

Laid in the grass for like 10 hours this weekend with my kid. He's amazing and just so happy whenever he's outside. Rolling around and feeling grass and shit. And shitting a lot from the strain of playing so hard

I think its time for my oldest (5) to start transitioning to showers. Shes just physically to big to be in a bath with her brother lol. They fight over territory. She's into the idea though, and I probably have swim class to thank for that. They require you shower before you get in the pool, and she's been doing that for at least a couple years now. Last 6 months she's hated it less and less.

Had a fun afternoon at a friends house yesterday. The kids ran around entertaining themselves, while the adults were able to chill and play Dominion. It was great!
