Mess something benign up (can happen to anyone): ok, make arrangements to get it rectified.

Important following appointment: I’m on time at the wrong location. => melts down crying like an icecream on asphalt.

I can’t anymore, it’s been like this my whole life and I have to just watch how the people around me constantly have to help out. And it makes me feel horrible.

I take meds and it does help, but every once in a while I’m hit with a couple of days where I’m getting smacked around like a ragdoll visiting the Grand Canyon vertically. (Or a piniata, because that’s the picture I found).

Have you tried blood pressure meds? Propranolol?

It helps keep that adrenaline rush from being a big deal whenever I realize when I've done/forgotten something.

Really do. These little guys are amazing. If I’m going to go into a stressful situation, I take one 30-60 minutes beforehand. It almost entirely eliminates the physical feelings of my anxiety. No elevated heart rate, no chest tightening feeling, no fight or flight nonsense. Just flat the entire time.

And it’s not something you have to continuously take, it’s as-needed so no long term dependency issues. You might end up using it more frequently at first but that’s fine.

They’ll probably start you on 5mg, but I found 10mg was the sweet spot for me. I’m a tall male, so if you aren’t you might enjoy a lower dose more.

Re: just the appt stuff - I rely heavily on my phone's calendar. Years ago, I adopted the mindset of "if it's not in the calendar, it doesn't exist", so any time I need to make a followup appt, I make sure to stop at the front desk with my phone out and do not leave until I have the date, time, and location marked in the calendar. It takes a bit of upfront effort to get the habit going, but it's been hugely beneficial for me and my family overall.

Before smart phones, I would have been the guy carrying a full planner everywhere I go.
