Old meme, already 40.

Most of the Millenials I know have even already the scary 50 approaching from behind.

But that's some kind of observation bias, as I am GenX and interestingly know almost no people born between 1990 and 2000.

But I know a bunch of GenZ again who currently look like deer with big, wide open eyes at the approaching headlights of the "30" truck, which imho is much worse than the 40...

40? The oldest millenials are turning 45 this year.

Already there, would not recommend. The only prize is unending joint pain.

40 has already caught me, but its OK because I still kick ass.

As a millienal rapidly approaching 40 and with my first kid on the way..this image speaks to me.

My father referred to me as 'almost 40' the other day, which I deemed rude so I called him 'almost 60', which he also deemed rude.

Forty was fine. I didn't feel old at all and was in a decent place mentally. I'm now 49, and I have a feeling 50 is going to be somewhat jarring. It just feels undeniably mature.

Meanwhile, retirement age is speeding away into the distance...

40 Millennials chasing you down the street would be pretty scary.

I remember when I felt invincible, like the world is my oyster. It felt like yesterday. Even though I didn't achieve everything that I hoped, I'm glad I was raised to just enjoy the journey.

Reminder that your generation contains all the best and worst of humanity, like other generations, and is not a like collective.

Leading up to my recent 40th, I went on a little tour of contacting people to tie up loose ends/seek closure where it was lacking. It was really helpful, even though at least one person worried I was planning to kill myself.
