The rail line also connects Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to China and Iran with homogenized tariffs across the 5 countries. Eventually it is supposed to add Iraq and Turkey. The very first delivery was solar panels from China to Iran.

YouAss sanctions on Russia bypass...check. Strait of Hormuz bypass...check. Panama Canal bypass...coming soon. Strait of Malacca bypass...coming soon. I'll bet when the YouAss and Isntreal heard the phrase "from the river to the sea" they weren't imagining this.

Imagine once high speed rail is established across these routes too. At that point, it might be close to shipping in terms of volumes of goods that can be moved.
