Separation of church and state is one of the founding principles of the country for a reason.

You are free to follow any (legal) religious rules you want. Your rules do not however apply to others. This is America, or it's supposed to be.

Fake Christians, godless fascists

Sadly, many americans think it's "a christian nation," and that our laws should be based on christianity.

Oh, except the parts about loving your neighbor, treating foreigners like family, not killing anyone, etc.

Indeed, it would at least be better if they acted like Jesus instead of just thanking him for his service and doing whatever the hell they want and then making a big show out of asking for forgiveness and being born again. Former murderer or drug addict finds Jesus, Churches love that stuff and will make them guest speakers.

Yeah, and honestly I'm all on board with celebrating someone who really does turn their life around. It can be really tough to break the cycle. But so many of these folks are just outright hypocrites. They'll go to church and listen to the preacher talk about the ten commandments and the sermon on the mount. They'll say that those things should be law. Then they'll cheat on their spouse, advocate for the death penalty, celebrate concentration camps for families with children here illegally, and a host of other things that their book is unquestionably against. It's gross.

Come on chaps, it’s been 250 years since you kicked out the king, you can do it again.

Now we have a better idea of what to do with him. Thanks France!

Just let Trump watch as you remove his name from the various buildings and things he put his name on. He'll have a stroke for sure.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 21 points 2 weeks ago

Not all that surprising, since ~30% of Americans are not religious in the first place, so you are probably putting off that percentage right from the jump, and then have to look to the other ~70% to find any support for such rhetoric...

These nitwits are so dumb, even other people with a Sky Daddy are noticing how stupid their antics are

They have both either lied under oath to get their jobs, or have violated their oath of office after obtaining it. In either case, their authority is null and void. They do not legitimately hold their offices. Period. At best they are impersonating leo/federal officials. I'm reality they are guilty of treason and high crimes against the United States. The only question is, are we going to garnish the wages of the people who donated to his campaign after the executions

If I had a genie, I'd wish every law enforcement agent in the world simultaneously gets the idea to arrest Trump and won't stop til they get him

[-] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago

Wow 87% disapproval is a much higher number than what I imagined.

Reading the headline I was expecting it was like a 60% disapproval

[-] Eat_Your_Paisley@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

It's to late for regrets

[-] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 weeks ago

Let us know when they do more than "disapprove". Maybe they could protest, and I mean more than 3 single day protests in a year.

[-] smeenz@lemmy.nz 2 points 2 weeks ago

Yep. They may claim to be offended and disapprove, but at the end of the day, they'll still vote for him

THEN FUCKING FO SOMETHING ABOUT IT ALREADY

Any other country would have been paralyzed until the cheeto and his cronies all left

Any other democracy simply would have ended in. Avote of no confidence and the government would have fallen, insert new elections

The Netherlands had a far right wing government with trump like idiots (One even has the signature trump look) and both governments fell. One within 6 months, the other after a year I believe.

Point t is: the us is not a democracy, never was, and the population doesn't know how to protest

[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

No, it is absolutely necessary America wait until the transition to fascist dictatorship is complete before anyone can take any action
