Museums and art are important. It’s a big successful fundraiser for art historians, and in that respect I think it’s great. Vibes-wise it’s fucking rancid though. An indulgent, tone deaf celebration of wealth that ultimately benefits a good cause.
We could raise money for art without decadent rich people parties if we just like stopped hoovering up all the money and giving it to rich people.
I mean yeah but Heidi Klum dressing like a statue and scaring other attendees by pretending to be an exhibit is very funny to me
I thought "soandso" was an actual name lmao
Right up there with whatsherface and theuglyone.
i have been trying to decide on my latest stage name (my first garage band was called "Some Band" to give you an idea of what kind of creativity we're working with here) and i've added Soandso and Whatstheirface as a last name to the "oh gods this will make my wife roll her eyes" list so thank you all kindly for your help.
Just mispronounce it a bit. It could work
Sohandzho
It’s really confusing because it’s actually twins, Soh and Zho, but they never appear together and you never know which one is which. Former twitch streamers, they now perform 10sec long shoegaze/dubstep inspired trick-hop in the secret twin language they invented as children with a smattering of Victorian era slang, and it’s only available on the Glut app. You have no idea what any of this means but have realized this is why your 11yo keeps babbling “trickie burr, trickie burr”.
The problem isn't design, art, wonder and occasional luxury. The problem is wealth distribution.
It was an entertaining 10 minutes of looking through the outfits, there wasn’t much I liked h this year but fashion is a perfectly valid interest.
They seem to be begging people to watch it. Lol the more advertising there is for a thing, the less I want to do it. I think the begging is so tacky.
I wanted to know who skipped the event after Bezos got involved but I found out it's Zendaya and Lady Gaga and I realized I don't really give a fuck.
It was really just the corporate gala this year.
That's all it ever has been.
It was interesting looking at the different outfits for five minutes or so, then I got bored.
I assume this is something in the news, but I don't even know what the met gala is.
If something happens and you don't notice or care is it really news?
Art is for times of peace. We are currently fighting a class war.
if the kids in the shallow pool crowded into the deep end, the deep end would be filled with drowned bodies, so let the shallow kids stay in the shallow end out of the deep divers way
