I had way too much negative interaction latelly. I think there is no value in getting inflammed by politics, or venting all your negative emotions.

Anyone have a list of wholesome communities that are like, word games, or drawings, wholesome roleplay, drawing, or other such interactive wholesome communities?

!dull_mens_club@lemmy.world is exactly that. Just dudes talking about boring dude shit with each other

[-] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 4 points 3 weeks ago

Huh, seems I'm already a part of that one. Thanks!

If you're willing to do some heavy lifting up front, running all/new for a few weeks and blocking communities that are home to content you don't like will leave you with a feed tailored exactly to your tastes. This would never work for a popular network like reddit but in an unknown niche platform like the fediverse, it works great. I haven't seen content I don't care for in ages and see more cute cats, dogs, turtles, owls and bats than you can shake a stick at.

It's brutal for a bit but will net you every active wholesome community in quick order.

yeah this is the way to go.

Is that one still active? The most recent posts I can see are two months old.

[-] FoxyFerengi@startrek.website 6 points 3 weeks ago

I think you might have a federation issue, there are daily posts that I can see. Even one as recent as five hours ago

[-] anna@retrofed.com 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Hmm. How would I check that? Did my instance defederate?

Edit: Apparently we're federated. Still can't see any recent posts, though.

If I remember correctly, people from your server need to subscribe to the community for the posts to federate. I can't remember if it's just one subscriber or if more are needed. Sorry, that's not super helpful >.<

That instance is closing down in July, so many communities are likely moving (or the members are)

Oh unique cuteness! Is it just one artist making all the art?

Community description says:

This is an unofficial mirror of Will Quinn’s Daily Bunnies, posted on Bluesky (and possibly other places).

You can follow Will here: https://bsky.app/profile/willquinnart.bsky.social

And view all the bunnies in their natural habitat here: Daily Bunnies Bsky custom feed

[-] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 3 points 3 weeks ago

Very interesting. This person just keeps blessing the world with bunnies, for free?!?

[-] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 weeks ago

Magnificent isnt it? :)

!LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone has a handful of wholesome communities she moderates.

[-] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I'm very well aware of LadyButterfly. Thank you Kolanaki!

!THE_PACK@lemmy.world - Aggressively supportive memes themed as badass biker skeletons.

!Dad for a Minute@lemmy.world - When you don't have a dad available, but want to talk to one. Posts like "Hey dad, how do I replace a sink faucet?" or "I still miss you, Dad. Happy birthday." I swing between tears and smiles when reading it.

!Stick@sh.itjust.works - cool sticks people find!

[-] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 1 points 3 weeks ago

Very funny! I didn't know Potatoo had that. Will pass for now, need to posiwash myself before I start gnawing human bones.

[-] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago

If you say so.

[-] balderdash9@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 weeks ago

I can't speak from experience but Beehaw.org is supposed to be a pretty chill place in theory. Don't know if they pulled it off in practice though so YMMV

[-] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Didn't hear of it, will try! Thank you!

EDIT: Apparently, I can't even handle good news of bad things happening to bad people. I'm crayon tier now.
