Treating ads like a feature...
I opened youtube in private window the other day which means I saw YT ads for the first time in years. Immediately I got two ads for a scam product, some sort of pressure nozzle that magically increases pressure 15x. Every time some ads slip through my blockers it's the same, half of them are obvious scams. Google and Meta obviously know this but they still get paid so they don't care.
I don't understand how some of my friends don't use adblock. One of them always just seems overwhelmed, and I don't think the ads are helping. But they also have no brain energy to change anything.
This really is rather dystopian. Who uses this? Who wants this? I mean besides Google and the advertisers.

A place for for news, discussion, memes, and links criticizing capitalism and advancing viewpoints that challenge liberal capitalist ideology. That means any support for any liberal capitalist political party (like the Democrats) is strictly prohibited.
A zero-tolerance policy for bigotry of any kind. Failure to respect this will result in a ban.
