According to figures shared with local organisers, around 40,934 tickets had been sold for the June 12th clash as of April 10th, via The Athletic.

FIFA lists SoFi Stadium's World Cup capacity at 69,650, meaning tens of thousands of seats may still need to be filled.

Well, that's interesting. So basically, they sold less than half.

The stadium bowl has open sides and seats 70,240 spectators for most events, with the ability to expand by 30,000 seats for larger events. Source

I can't stress this enough, no one should come here, it isn't safe and will end in disaster

I logged in to my FIFA ticketing account to check on ticket sales about 10 hours after the last batch of tickets dropped (the “last minute sales phase”), and they put me in a queue to wait to get into ticket sales. It’s so transparently staged to give the illusion of scarcity it’s not even remotely credible.

Devil's advocate, a queue may be more for managing limited throughput on an undersized server infrastructure. With the perceived scarcity as a side benefit.

Probably not, but it's a possibility.

Even if they were running on a t2 micro, they should expect to clear ticketing faster than that — I was still enqeueded an hour and a half after I tried to get in. I never did see how long it actually took.

And it would be if the prices were even remotely affordable. The cheapest ticket in the nosebleeds is $1100, while the best seats are around $2500... for a group stage game! The most expensive seat to the FINAL in Qatar was $1100.
