I logged in to my FIFA ticketing account to check on ticket sales about 10 hours after the last batch of tickets dropped (the “last minute sales phase”), and they put me in a queue to wait to get into ticket sales. It’s so transparently staged to give the illusion of scarcity it’s not even remotely credible.

Devil's advocate, a queue may be more for managing limited throughput on an undersized server infrastructure. With the perceived scarcity as a side benefit.

Probably not, but it's a possibility.

Even if they were running on a t2 micro, they should expect to clear ticketing faster than that — I was still enqeueded an hour and a half after I tried to get in. I never did see how long it actually took.
