I checked, and we do have an extradition treaty with Albania, so it's not what I figured.

Maybe just a hub airport for Türkiye Airlines.

"You ain't flying if you aren't on a Tūrkiye!"

"But isn't Albany in New York?" - Average American

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 2 days ago

[-] nile_istic@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

I did not know that. But I'm also an American, so...

[-] halyihev@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

There's also an Albany in Vermont, for what it's worth. Very small town, but it's there.

[-] goombakid@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Oregon standing by.

[-] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 19 points 2 days ago

Soon: "Former US President Donald Trump granted Russian Citizenship" 👀

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 2 days ago

or UAE, SAUDIA ARABIA, qatar.

He traded a bunch of our currency for Argentina's money. If he gets out of his presidency (alive and not in jail) my money is on him heading there.

In completely unrelated news: corruption rate of Albania raises by three percent points

[-] limonfiesta@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago

Albania is already notoriously corrupt.

So Adams might fit right in, but I doubt he's going to move the needle.

[-] Akasazh@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

That was the joke I was going for, though

[-] the_tab_key@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Not so rare anymore

[-] AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 days ago

Well this is unfair, i want one now. Ive always said how the albanian coast was really nice. Also free kosovo.

[-] kreskin@lemmy.world 41 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

good news, gtfo, abandoned poodle of the zionists. Albania is the perfect spot for him.

[-] Brummbaer@pawb.social 25 points 3 days ago

What an odd choice of country.

[-] SippyCup@lemmy.world 20 points 3 days ago

It's cheap, and it's beautiful. With a little bit of money you could live like a king there

[-] EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

Some even say that Albania is the New York of Albania.

[-] Brummbaer@pawb.social 4 points 2 days ago

I'll pass, I'm not straight and religious enough to enjoy it there.

[-] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 days ago

Even those that are, aren't.

[-] ede@lemmy.ml 9 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Probably for the proshutë në avull.

[-] Brummbaer@pawb.social 6 points 3 days ago

If that is another Simpsons reverence, well done. Maybe I'm missing subtext here and "steamed ham" means something else in Albanian.

[-] ede@lemmy.ml 18 points 3 days ago

It's an ~~Albany~~ albanian expression.

[-] FudgyMcTubbs@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Bravo. Begins slow clap

[-] Akasazh@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

What does the expression mean?

[-] MajorasTerribleFate@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

I couldn't quickly turn up anything to suggest it's used in any idiomatic expression, so presumably they just meant it's a normal Albanian term rather than any figure of speech.

[-] Akasazh@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Thanks for looking out up!

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 8 points 3 days ago

Probably the only one that would take him.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 2 days ago

the president of albania gave him the passport, so he must like him.

[-] kittenzrulz123@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 2 days ago

Tbh I'm surprised he didn't move to Türkiye

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 2 days ago

why not RUZZIA, since they dont have extradition treaty.

That joke missed you, kinda like the inspectors missing the fire safety violations of the Turkish embassy

[-] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Was it the 4th Thursday in November?

[-] Zier@fedia.io 12 points 3 days ago

Someone is running from prosecution.

[-] fisch@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

I remember him promoting some crypto bullshit. I guess that didn't work out as planned.

[-] scytale@piefed.zip 8 points 3 days ago
