Bro I just shaved. Then I read this and my neckbeard erupted sponteanously.

Tim Allen movie where he scares Richard Stallman off his roof and is forced to take his place

[-] imjustmsk@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago

That's some seamless masking and morphing, sad these days people just use AI to make slop that doesn't even look half as good as this.ย

[-] tetris11@feddit.uk 5 points 5 days ago

Pretty scary visuals, especially for the time

Y u make Tux into bad guy? Tux just want people compute. Tux is friend shaped.

[-] imjustmsk@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

There is a rumour that Tux and Clippy are seeing each other.ย

The machines did nothing wrong.

Its true about the updates but its also that Microsoft is now owning your computer.

You are asking them now if its ok to use it to run programs. I dont think people realize how very different it is to run Linux. There is no American corporation running your computer anymore. Thats a huge difference in how the system speaks to you, how it acts, what it lets you do.

I guess most have never experienced that so they dont get it.

there... is... another

systemd in the distance

[-] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 3 points 5 days ago

Indeed. It's more like metastatic cancer, though.

[-] Morphit@feddit.uk 9 points 4 days ago

I can't stand it any longer. It's the slop!

[-] leviathan@feddit.org 6 points 4 days ago

I think(?) the the screencaps are from the Matrix franchise, but the text feels very Tron.

Where is the lie?

[-] lena@gregtech.eu 9 points 5 days ago

Software doesn't necessarily serve the user, I'd say a virus is software too.

[-] Get_Off_My_WLAN@fedia.io 18 points 5 days ago

It serves a user, just maybe not the one using the machine it's on.

[-] PlexSheep@infosec.pub 4 points 4 days ago

Sometimes software serves an abuser. We call this malware

[-] Marduk73@sh.itjust.works 7 points 5 days ago

Can't read this without hearing the voice and at the slower cadence.

[-] Emi@ani.social 6 points 5 days ago

Do the machines run on Linux? Perhaps perfect one? Or do they have their own OS? They use binary we know that at least.

[-] UnspecificGravity@piefed.social 7 points 5 days ago

Considering the amount of just random ass shit in the world that runs some flavor of linux or another (like restaurant menus and display sings and even generic chinese game consoles) I would expect that whatever they are running is probably Linux adjacent at the very least.

[-] Shanmugha@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

Damn, do I like it. Thank you!

Community rules (click to expand)

1. Follow the site-wide rules

2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack users for any reason. This includes using blanket terms, like "every user of thing".
  • Don't get baited into back-and-forth insults. We are not animals.
  • Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
  • Bigotry will not be tolerated.
  • 3. Post Linux-related content
  • Including Unix and BSD.
  • Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of sudo in Windows.
  • No porn, no politics, no trolling or ragebaiting.
  • Don't come looking for advice, this is not the right community.
  • 4. No recent reposts
