Why don't they just put up their homes on the market and entertain a number of competing offers and even use their freedom of movement within Gaza and Israel at large to find a new house in a nice neighborhood? 
I swear we are like a week from some lib saying "Being Palestinian is inherently antisemitic because they're occupying land that rightfully belongs to the Jewish people"

It would still be stupid af but it would at least make some level of sense if there were a large number of countries offering citizenship and support to Palestinians. But they’re literally held captive and can’t leave. The borders are closed and there’s a heavily guarded wall around the whole place!
As a hwhite American the concept of having a “homeland” that you have historical ties to is something I don’t have a solid understanding of. I’ve never had that and I’ve mostly resented the places I grew up. I already wanted to move away from almost everywhere I’ve lived, and if you started dropping bombs I wouldn’t think twice about leaving. But Gazans aren’t allowed to leave.
To be clear I’m not trying to discount the concept of having a homeland you’re tied to, just wanted to point out it isn’t even a necessary part here because they’re held captive anyway.
I suppose I feel a real attachment to Chicago at this point. If it was being bombed regularly and I was able to leave with my family I certainly would though. Not totally related to your point, which I agree with, just hadn't really thought about it before.
