Assad was overthrown by a literal ISIS militant after years of bloodshed (that continues)

Maduro was kidnapped following years of economic sanctions and with civilians being killed because muh capacity to bomb Caracas

Khamenei was killed by two countries currently carrying out a genocide in Gaza and with a shitton of iranian civilians dying as well.

Who's the violent dictator here?

And the chavistas are fine

Russia-aligned

  1. US bullies a country
  2. Russia aids the country because it's the only great power willing to stand with victims of US imperialism
  3. US invades the country and neolibs justify the action because it was "Russia-aligned"

Circular logic.

[-] DogThatWentGorp@hexbear.net 48 points 5 days ago

But the neolibs told me Trump was a Russian asset a few years ago so-

Oh wait right, they deal with time in 3 month intervals. Nvm.

[-] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 39 points 5 days ago

Fuck it.

Kill every westerner. The utter disregard for human life, the smugness, it's infuriating.

I volunteer myself to be the first to go, my only request is to enjoy one last jar of mayonnaise.

I would suggest rounding them up and butchering them for their meat.

[-] fox@hexbear.net 26 points 5 days ago

So is Trump a Russian asset or what

[-] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 8 points 5 days ago

Posted in r/neoliberal by a cossack "bedouin". stalin-point Opinion immediately discarded.

[-] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 27 points 5 days ago

From 2 days ago. Are they both referencing some 3rd thing or are neolibs still unable to actually come up with their own rhetoric?

[-] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 7 points 5 days ago

It's the latter.

MAGA/Republican policy is, in essence, neoliberalism (not that they would ever claim that title). In reality, with their recent slide into outright fascism, this may not necessarily be true anymore.

Nonetheless, I'm sure liberals would follow this line of thinking as well.

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 29 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

The only difference between neoliberalism and fascism seems to be whether or not they bother with the smokescreen of rules and norms. Neoliberals will create elaborate legal and social structures to kill people on the streets and round them up into prisons, fascists will just do it and disregard those legal and social structures because they're woke.

[-] calidris@hexbear.net 11 points 5 days ago

Fascism allows the free market, but dictates the focus of the economy (production) on a macro level. Typically towards militaristic goals.

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 10 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

It's always been "free markets for thee, government subsidies for me" with them, and the MIC expanded enormously under neoliberalism so I don't really see how that's different either. I suppose neoliberals have more of a veneer of being against government spending, but the actual budget always got bigger.

[-] calidris@hexbear.net 5 points 5 days ago

This is my interpretation of things. With neoliberalism you would see powerful capitalists manipulating the state to whatever ends they're pursuing (ultimately accumulating more capital of course). With fascism this is inverted in a way. The state is run almost like a protection racket. The capitalists are free to accumulate capital, but at the behest of the state or at the very least with their approval.

I hate these replies. The people posting there are actual people, who like vote and have jobs and shit, this isn't like bad takes from 4chan where they're being made by NEETs who never leave their house and nobody expects anything from. Hell one of the founding members of that sub was straight up some DNC organizer wonk of some level of influence (idk if he's still involved, but still).

If anything their takes being so bad should be EXTRA alarming. Theyre bad but being presented as reasonable centrist takes, nobody feels the same about Groypers having bad takes. So yeah I'm all for documenting it and call it out and bullying them as much as we can.

Its users are pretty far from what I'd consider typical americans, or even typical self-identified liberals. They're close ideologically to establishment dems, but this is nothing new from those types, see the response from every US dem politician now or the "this is when he finally became presidential" thing in his first term which IIRC was in reaction to bombing some country.

These people definitely were 4chaners. These people are destiny folks

Yeah Assad despite dropping the ball by all accounts was still welcomed into exile. That's Russia's policy, if you're an ally even if we disagree a lot, in exile we've got you. Same for Yanukovich and a few others.

[-] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 12 points 5 days ago

Great, now show our allies in the Middle East beyond Israel for the last fifty years
