Coffee wood? I thought coffee was a bush.

Huh. Kentucky coffeetree. https://www.wood-database.com/coffeetree/ learned something new.

Yeah I had never heard of it until one day I went to the mill where I get my stock. He had a pallet of it for a decent price. It is SUPER heavy and dense. Beautiful dark color, though the board I got also has a considerable amount of white sapwood.

That's too nice to use.

Also reminded me of the time my wife paid attention to my tool box one day. We downsized to a condo and so she said "Why do you have so many hammers? Can we get rid of some?".

So my response "No dear, they aren't all hammers and they have different purposes." I went through the short list. Small and large Ballpeen for doing various metal things on the car or some precise nailing, short claw hammer for the framing in tight areas, long claw banner for more leverage in open areas, 32 ounce hammer for heavy persuading, large wood mallet for knocking stuff together, rubber mallet for various things where wood might splinter or marr the surface... She lost interest after the first few.

Wait, you have a hammer for knocking stuff together but are missing a hammer to knock stuff apart! Please correct this.

Based on this list it sounds like you are dangerously low on available hammers.

Well. Did give up a giant sledge hammer so if we go by weight, I have lost a lot

But the engineering hammer, the precision rubber mallet, the smooth vs waffle face finish vs rough... and don't get me started on mauls... I might not really need to purchase that new shiny hammer that just became available...

Funny. My wife never asked me that about my tools. I'm from Canada, and I moved to the UK to be with her. As I was deciding what to tip and what to keep, she kept saying "Do you really need all these video games? You have so many! There's ones from the 80s and 90s! Just give them away or something!"

After I did the itemised list with current average cost of all my consoles and games, that fit 1 large box and another small one, she stopped arguing.
Those one and a half boxes were worth more than the 4 large boxes of tools.
