Fun fact: most lead is taken up and locked into your bones. Which is mostly harmless...until you hit advanced age where degradation or fractures leak it back into your bloodstream

No, but the trauma from the war generations is passed on to the boomers. One of the pioneers on research of generational trauma is a son of a Holocaust survivor. His first observation of generational trauma was when his dad told him to just do what he says without question. And even though the researcher was a child at the time, he already acutely noted that his dad sounded like the Nazis who persecuted him. A lot of family members, unfortunately, bear the brunt of emotional lashing out of those who experienced conflicts.

Note for everyone that it's not in fuel for turbine engines, it's in fuel for piston engines (though progress is being made).
So pretty much personal aircraft only not commercial.

They could have mandated E85 two decades ago. they just kick the ball forward with studies and consultations. E85 is 108 octane rated.
Ferrocene might be a better drop-in replacement, since it wouldn't affect the fuel's vapor pressure.

Apparently there has been some progress towards that, as we needed an alternative additive for piston-engine prop planes to prevent engine knock. You don’t want planes stalling or breaking down.
The FAA has a program to completely eliminate the leaded fuels by 2030, but there is one already available and several more in testing.
There's been a lot of progress and it's been ready for a while, there were just some assholes in the FAA whose piddly little egos got hurt, so they blocked progress for a decade, and it's only now taking the final steps because everyone involved in that scheme has retired.
Mike Busch discussed this with George Braly (co-founder of GAMI) on his Aviation Masters podcast. I was honestly disgusted after listening to that. Years of lead exposure for pilots was completely unnecessary.
