They had yet to prove any fraud

[-] qarbone@lemmy.world 27 points 12 hours ago

We have to disband this entire government.

Republicans are obviously doing crimes but the Democrats are complicit to these in spite of the inexcusably lazy defense of "decorum". You don't stand on decorum when criminals are killing people outside and shitting all over your floor.

We could always take a page from the French and burn DC to the ground lol

Preferable to a nationwide civil war IMO

[-] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 37 points 15 hours ago

You are witnessing the end of the United States of America. It can't be stopped.

[-] Canconda@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 hours ago

Yup. I called this shit the day Trump won the GOP nomination. People in my office actually laughed at me.

This is the end of the Union but this isn't the end. I don't like where this is headed but, so be it.

Honestly, I fully expect people to continue to invest their time and effort into ineffective hope and action.

Epstein files? Dud, their base was never going to care.

People resigning? By all means, tell them what positions were problematic and leave them open to replace with loyalists. In this regard, at least people have begun circulating CIA guides for people trying to subvert regimes, so at least it has not continued to the same degree as when Trump's second term began.

Midterms? Turns out the January 6th guy is going to try to compromise them (never mind that he has persistently ignored congress and gone over them, that right now it is the weakest branch of government). I can't even comprehend how people are falling on the impeachment line and sinker he's laying out for them to bite on when he has fully compromised the federal agencies that would be in charge of such an investigation, never mind that he has already been impeached and it lead to nothing. Meanwhile, they continue to take no effective action, because permitting illegal unconstitutional acts peacefully is somehow better than allowing them to commit the same acts but with somewhat less bullshit excuses even when it doesn't matter how bullshit the excuses has been so far.

Protests? Not really that effective when you hold them in like-minded societies. They would need to start happening in the red states where people are living within their bubbles to pop them out of them, but you wouldn't have oligarchs financing the fleets of buses and logistics necessary to begin moving them never mind that the reception would not be even the same as the sort of reception they've been exploiting for their MAGA crowds. Protests against abusers just tend to egg them on when not only do they pose no actual resistance, but they can get away with literal murder.

If Europe had gone up against the USSR, they'd be a lot more cooked than Europe and Ukraine working to stop Russia's advance. Stop being a schizo-nation that holds "indivisibility" above all else, US, because you no longer hold the same values throughout your territory. Maybe next time don't ignore the canary of the FCC's Fairness Doctrine as it is butchered to death.

Don't get me wrong, I have little hope for opposition, if any. I can count the governors taking the threat seriously and for what it is with a single hand, never mind that they are essentially acting independently and with questionable support from the state authorities they should supposedly have authority over.

Mike Johnson cleans Trumps asshole with his tounge after changing his diaper. Can I prove it? No.

[-] crystalmerchant@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

Mike Johnson washes Trump's balls with Barron's armpit sweat. Can I prove that? No, because it happened so far upstream.

[-] __Lost__@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 19 hours ago

You have just as much proof as trump does claiming election interference by Democrats, so I definitely believe you.

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 1 points 13 hours ago

We call people like that 'brown ankles' because that's how far up Trump's arse he is.

[-] Sunflier@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

Honestly, I'm surprised we haven't seen someone put on a suicide vest to take out ICE/Republicans. Maybe they have a terminal illness and want to some good on their way out. That's honesly the most stunning thing about today.

[-] Canconda@lemmy.ca 1 points 5 hours ago

It's too late for that. ICE has galvanized a culture of oppression since the 7 or so murders they've committed. Maybe ICE would have tucked tail a year ago but now they'll double down. Meanwhile Trump is itching to justify actual military intervention.

[-] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 49 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Remember, its only election fraud if a republican loses.

its only fraud if trump gets less votes than he wanted.

even if its on the same ballot, if 12 republicans win on the ballot, and 1 democrat wins.. Its only the democrat win thats fraudulent, not the entire ballot. not the republican votes.

Republican votes are never fraudulent, especially when they are.

[-] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 32 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

Also, Remember, They have a urgent criminal need to subvert these elections, to maintain power.

Because the epstein file releases, which have been heavily redacted and censored in their favor, still reveals a vile cult of sick child rapists.

They are literally fighting for their lives, That is how desperate they are to steal these next two elections. Thats why they are so dangerous right now, Thats why they are trying to crush the public with ICE, Its why they are trying to build databases of opponents and dissidents, its why they are doing everything they can to violently intimidate and suppress anyone wanting to act against them.

Thats why they are so obsessed with fraud, because, as they've done for 50 years, Republicans always point the finger at the democrats for everything that the republicans themselves do, want to do, or will do.

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 13 points 22 hours ago

You are so 100% correct. They have never been this close to total power, and they know that not only will they not come back from another failure, the consequences are likely to be EXTREMELY bad. The American people will not accept anything less than serious punishment for MAGAs CRIMES.

So like you said, they are literally fighting for their lives. I'll add to that, that they are socio/psychopaths with all manner of extreme mental presentations, and are capable of going beyond anything in our worst imaginations. They not only will employ serious violence, they WANT to.

This next election will tell the tale. I find it impossible to believe that there is any chance that they will allow this election to proceed unmolested, and if the majority of either chambers flips, they will contest it with all sorts of simultaneous strategies that they are already discussing.

MAGA currently only has a one vote lead in the House. If a couple more quit immediately, which might be possible if they keep committing heinous atrocities, the House may flip BEFORE the election.

Dems should be using whatever influence they have with corporate America to hire some suffering Congressional Republican who hates what's happening. I'll bet there's a bunch. Woo a few away with good salaries and benefits, and MAGAs election fraud will be for naught.

[-] duncan_bayne@lemmy.world 12 points 21 hours ago

The American people will not accept anything less than serious punishment for MAGAs CRIMES.

As a non-American, I hope you're right, but fear you're not.

We'll settle for two lolipops and smack on the hand.

I knew the American empire was going to fall eventually, I just didn't expect them to speed run it, cheering.

Its going to be real fun for Republicans when the economy is destroyed and they can't get rid of the dictator/fascism machine they created.
