Heck ya! An Impossible burger with real cheddar and bacon on top is delicious and undoubtably healthier than the full-meat experience!

I’m still eating the exact same amount of cheese I used to

Cheese is the one thing I break from being plant-based on.

shocked-pikachu

If there were alternatives available that weren’t twice the price

You don't have to eat borgers, you know? There's other food besides just the frozen vegan stuff aisle.

Seeing the comments once again makes me glad that antiveganism isn't allowed on Hexbear.

Me trying to explain the concept of burgers without cheese to a yank morshupls

As soon as the OG McDonalds had a higher up suggest cheeseburgers be called “tempting cheeseburger” on the menu with a straight face. It’s been over for us. What little respectability amerikkka had went down the toilet that day.

cheese on any sandwich is overrated as fuck

And take it from an American. I can imagine so many great burgers without meat. Black bean burgers with avocado and hot sauce makes for a fine burger.

After the revolution there will be culinary literacy programs where people will be taught how to cook without ultra-processed ingredients or animal exploitation. They'll learn to mash beans into burgers by hand and rediscover how good food can be.

After the revolution there will also be canteens with extremely affordable, healthy, tasty seasonal meals, so that people who don't wanna spend 2h a day cooking can still eat healthy

I make soup a lot, easy to make a big batch and have enough left over for a few days and cuts down on kitchen time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bar_mleczny

In the people's republic of Poland they had these milk bars with that concept in mind (albeit not vegan). There are still some around today and are widely popular, despite that they are getting closed down by the libs

Yeah, столовая is a similar thing in the USSR, I absolutely love those

You want bacon? How about you bake in the heat of a dying star? The amount of money you save switching away from processed garbage more than makes up for the cost of being able to have an avocado and mushrooms every single fucking day if you wanted.

People have been eating potatoes and grains and nuts and berries for millions of years, but it only took a couple of decades for corporations to literally reverse engineer human instinct. Now people can't bear the thought of not filling themselves with salted grease and getting sick like a fish first thing every single morning.

Fuck sake.

The word vegan, and the Vegan Society, was originally invented for people to clarify their beliefs vs. people who didn't eat meat but still consumed dairy. Clearly, we need a new word to separate ourselves from the people who only eat meat on Tuesdays. I propose vegetarian. Wait a second...

I'm now imagining a scenario where one of these people shows up to their local "Vegan meet up" and orders bacon then complains online when those same people look at them funny the rest of the night. That has probably actually happened.

[-] red_giant@hexbear.net 21 points 2 days ago

Yes I’m a vegan. Yes I eat bacon. We exist.

[-] CommunistCuddlefish@hexbear.net 13 points 2 days ago

Bacon is disgusting though

[-] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 1 points 2 days ago
