City subreddits calling out MAGA supporter owned businesses to boycott like it isn't already 99% of them lol

Don't thinkthats the message here. Boycotts and targeted divestment campaigns work. BDS has done untold damage to the Israeli economy, and becomes a bridgehead to more concrete action such as sabotage and snd picket lines.

I don't think ragging folks for the selection of a few coordinated targets is a good use of time. Just like with the "general strike" stuff, it's not expected to immediately abolish ICE in one righteous moment of proletarian fury; but it does help practice tactics and build networks. Recognising the collective struggle against the state requires choosing battles that aren't winnable, but form an escalation to the ones that are.

Capital is not one monotonous block. If we want any hope of bringing it to it's knees, selectively targeting it's weakest points or most reactionary elements is a valid strategy. This goes beyond individual "ethical consumption", because it's a coordinated effort.

Honestly, you might as well be against strikes, because they only ever target individual corporations. Yes, a general strike would be better, but they still build workers power.

Taking part in efforts like that might even help people to develop some class consciousness.

there is no ethical consumption

Yes, but targeted boycott campaigns DO work, and "no ethical consumption" doesn't absolve hedonistic consumption in favour of the imperial core.

I'm sure you meant that as a given, but it bugs me to see that meme nowadays with how much it's been used go justify scab and apathetic neoliberalism.

"there is no ethical consumption under capitalism" i state smugly as i buy gallons of shit hummus directly from the idf during their fundraiser for a new merkava battalion

Every CEO would have to do a Kanye-style rant about how much they love Hitler while wearing SS uniforms.

I hope never because the understanding that all companies are fascist collaborators is not only just wrong and has been proven wrong by the KomIntern, but it’s also bad for the movement as a whole and is actively hurting it. Capital isn’t monotonous. Different capital factions have different interests. Even in Nazi Germany there were Monopolies that didn’t want fascism.
