Said no American ever. There are many things to have conflicts about between nationalities, especially now, but this is a weird one. Also, Europe is probably the continent with the most egregious history spreading invasive species.

What on Earth does that have to do with anythign? An invasive species is an invasive species.

Europeans were the ones traveling around between continents spreading plants from one to another without regard for the consequences.

they eliminated that in some of the international versions, because "parents were complaining" about it.

I put a bunch of goldenrod seed down in the fall so it could overwinter. Next year will be the first my yard has it and im excited to see what it brings around. With that and the milkweed and all the other seeds I’ve thrown about, it should be quite a show.

[-] lime@feddit.nu 15 points 1 week ago

when it's killed off everything filling its niche so the ecosystem reaches a new equilibrium. which may not ever happen, depending ot the situation.

Just use its Latin name, Solidago. How am I supposed to know what it is called in English when each other language also has its own name.

And yes, in Germany I do see it as an invasive pest. But at least it attracts a lot of pollinators. The invasive species of Erigeron are worse.
