I think the brazenness is the whole point here. This is going to be a kangaroo court with the goal of intimidating other Latin American countries. The message here is that we can just go ahead and abduct you in the middle of the night, and there's nothing you can do about it.

If anyones been following trumps legal cases they know how utterly incompetent he is in anything to do with legalism, like Alex Jones level of delusion.
However on the other hand, the 'Trump is going to get fucked in the courts!' discourse flying around the internet right now ignores the reality that the US upper class have literally never actually been beholden to the courts and flips the relationship on its head. (as if the puppet started to control its master)
It is idealism which is most often expressed by liberal democrats. Like the discourse around this is the vibe of 'trump didnt have the legal backing to do this' rather than just saying what he did was wrong.
