Just check nsfw but images hosted by Reddit that are NSFW are slow to load and seem to have been slow for quite a while, so my rate at which I check it tapered from few times a day to now once or twice a month
I donβt. I suspect weβre the minority of Reddit users though. Itβs a hard addiction to give up even with an okay replacement like Lemmy or kbin.
Deleted the app, deleted my account. Haven't been back.
I only go to reddit now if I look something up and get a link to it. I donβt go there to browse anymore.
Lemmy still has some issues that need to be addressed for it to fully replace Reddit for my needs
Be honest, do you still use reddit?
No I gave reddit this Reson why I deleted my reddit "I'm done with all the oooo we want money for are investors and so we can go public so lest raise the api price and then foreseeable reopen subreddits that Locked themselves for a protest then say if you don't like it then we will find people who do"
No. I've checked my inbox and profile page several times, but that's it. Reddit is dead to me.
Nope deleted it completely
I have not used it since some time in early June.
I have technically logged into my account -- but only because I've opened Relay Pro. In spite of everything, it appears to still update everything, and the last app patch update message I saw said that they had implemented changes to reduce API usage (this after July 1).
But I haven't interacted with reddit beyond that, and I don't plan to. It's not about anger at reddit anymore either -- I actively like Lemmy better. It reminds me of old reddit.
I think its been almost a month, since I intentionally went to Reddit. More than 3 weeks anyway.
No, I have a couple small communities that I have pull into an RSS reader that still works somehow, but I stay logged out and never comment. 12 year account with 29k karma and I quit cold turkey and mostly went back to RSS feeds.
Yes, the /r/Cricket sub hasn't moved from reddit yet. But nothing more.
However, I don't use the reddit app. I'm using Boost only. If it stops working, I might not use reddit at all.
I do. Lemmy is great for general purpose stuff, so far the best alternative I've found as far as the crossroads between layout and community involvement. However I follow a lot of fandoms and more specific communities, and those just aren't there yet. I'm trying to start contributing here to encourage it, but the communities for those are still for the most part on reddit.
Scrolled for maybe 3 minutes total in the past month... Was a heavy commenter before that.
I do when a Google search leads me to a thread, but I donβt have an account. I donβt keep browsing like I used to. Iβm also both annoyed and happy to see replies to threads deleted or replaced with goodbye phrases.
I donβt browse Reddit routinely anymore like i would before. But Iβd still visit it once in a while to read about discussion on niche subjects.
I pretty much only use it to add at the end of a google search. I feel like lemmy might be lacking in hits if I tried that
I logged in once to look up something I had saved, but the mobile site is so irritating to use I gave up.
I don't browse it (I have a redirector rule that links me right out of Reddit), but if I need to access it for something, I just tack on old.
as a bypass.
no. I mostly used Reddit from mobile, and since Apollo went down, I just used it once from my laptop to find a link. Other than that, 100% lemmy using Wefwef.
Yeah I check hydroponics subs occasionally.
Only when searching about a particular topic or problem, whether I'm looking something up in a game or just troubleshooting.
Otherwise nothing, no account nor any browsing.
Been 16 days since I last checked Reddit. Lemmy has been a refreshing experience.
No
I am surprised how little I miss Reddit after June. I realised I was really dependent on RIF. I downloaded an RSS app instead (Inoreader) and followed some subs that I used to frequent. I check it once every few days as opposed to many times a day before the collapse.
I deleted my account around the start of the original blackout, and from then only really checked r/ModCoord & r/Save3rdPartyApps. These days I only really briefly pop into r/ModCoord to check for any updates on the situation.
Yeah unfortunately. There are some subs that haven't migrated over yet and some subs that are active that have really useful info for me (school, language learning, etc.)
Nope! Not once since the blackout began.
I have been using the official Reddit app from my cakeday (did not know about all the other apps until they were gone), and have opened the app like every other day but haven't made a comment since I switched to Lemmy.
Yes, but much less than I used to. When I donβt have a particular goal in mind and just want to doomscroll a bit, I find myself checking Lemmy first, and only if I run out of things to read, which I usually donβt, do I move on to Reddit.
There are still some niche communities that are active on Reddit and not here. So I do still go over there on purpose for those.
I take the occasional peek to see if it imploded yet. I do miss certain communities. Only last week I was looking for some info on a historical subject. Google turned up nothing so I wanted to r/askHistorians. I hate they decided to stay on reddit and don't switch to lemmy.
Nah, I created a Lemmy account at the start of June (at least the Jerboa installation date says that) and uninstalled boost a few days later. Only checked in on Reddit from time to time with libreddit, to have a look at the John Oliver party.
I deleted or mass-edited all my comments and sent an GDPR request. Only thing left after that is the account deletion.
Didn't want to give them any traffic anymore, so I avoided everything about it.
I occasionally check https://reddit.com/r/artifexian which is the official community for a youtube channel and podcast that I like.
Other than that, I'm out.
Only when googling stuff I sometime add site:reddit.com
, but I am no longer browsing reddit on my phone. With the death of RIF and APIs I just can't stomach looking at the page.
And good bless old.reddit redirector plugin.
My small 3rd string city's community is only like one guy on here, but it's active on there
Only if a search result organically takes me to something that happens to be on Reddit.
I do notice that a lot of the subs I find this way are now locked to 18+ (the SwiftUI sub) which means I have to login to view. Since I deleted my account thatβs a no go.
A little bit, but I have been favoring Lemmy. If they kill old.reddit I'm out though.
Sometimes I use Reddit to search up nonfiction book recommendations on r/books with searx.be (it automatically fetches you results on the old reddit website) because to be honest, it's pretty much one of the few places where I can find nonfiction recommendation for niche topics or just nonfiction readers in general (that isn't just about self-help books). Not only that, the users generally give a synopsis so it's easier to find what book you'd be interested in. But since Reddit made porn less accessible, my reddit usage dropped significantly.
I will occasionally browse because Relay still works, but I stopped contributing content.
Nah, deleted that shit as soon as they announced the API.
I saw the writing on the wall.
Nope, I haven't been there even once since switching over to Lemmy
