I get this a lot as a tall person:

"You startled me!"

"Yeah I tend to have that effect on people."

As someone with a broken anxiety response, you could be a gentle sloth and still startle me

As a tall person, I quiet my footsteps when approaching someone because I get a kick out of startling people.

My favorite is when I enter a room as someone who was in there alone is walking away from the door, so that by the time they reach the other side and turn around, I'm right behind them.

I do the same! I feel seen friend.

Except most people aren't self-aware enough to know they're disturbing you.

People should walk into traffic more

This perfectly illustrates why I get more done when working from home. People popping into my office exactly like that when they could have just sent me an email.

Classic extrovert time wasting, I couldn’t imagine going back to that environment and being productive

[-] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

So as an extrovert of sorts I want to first say it is definitely on us to remember your needs for productivity/just being comfortable at work. I am sorry some folks don’t respect that for you.

To give a little more perspective here though if that’s ok: sometimes we need to externalize to process something or are kind of running an idea by you with the intention of seeing if there is pushback. A kind of gut check. I know I personally like to do this in person because it allows a little free flow conversation to happen if necessary. That being said, it’s on us to read the room/not always do this lol

I couldn’t help loving Reno I won’t lie to your face, Stamets. Maybe you should reassess your character judgement.

It's a love hate relationship. I'd die for her but I'd probably also be the one killing her.

So you're saying it would be a murder suicide 👍

[-] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

Seems perfectly on character.

Being disturbed by Garak is not disturbing

[-] [email protected] 13 points 2 years ago

Except when it is very disturbing.

Doc's answer didn't even matter.
"Doctor, may I disturb you for a moment?"
"Not right now, please."
"Too late."
"…"

Dude is like Patrick Bateman in every respect except that he uses his powers for good.

coworker: "consider yourself interrupted then"
