Dolores Cacuango, also known as Mamá Doloreyuk, was a leader in the fight for indigenous rights in Ecuador born on this day in 1881. She was active in the Glorious May Revolution of 1944 and co-founded the Indigenous Federation of Ecuador (FEI).

Cacuango was born to enslaved people in San Pablourco who worked the Pesillo Hacienda near Cayambe without being paid. She had no access to education due to her lack of resources, and learned Spanish while working as a housemaid.

In 1930, Cacuango was among the leaders of the historic workers' strike at the Pesillo hacienda in Cayambe, which was a milestone for indigenous and peasant rights. During the Glorious May Revolution in Ecuador, Cacuango personally led an assault on a government military base.

The same year, with the help of Ecuador's Communist Party, Cacuango co-founded the Indigenous Federation of Ecuador (FEI), an early group in the fight for indigenous rights. She also helped establish some of the first bilingual indigenous schools.

I had a day yesterday. Taking today off for the most part besides chores. I probably won't even get around to working on my app. I'm close to done with it but stuck on this dumb night mode toggle I am trying o implement.

I don't know what is worse. Too many people all at once or too many unique interactions with people all day. But I had both of those yesterday.

I got a can of bubble tea from the store and it tastes good, first time ever trying it. Obviously now I support Taiwan's independence from the wicked CCP that wants to take delish milk tea away from the good little people.

Is there anything like a beard in old school gay circles but for not really liking people in general? Like, getting married to someone strictly for the legal benefits. No having to actually like the other person, no intimacy, basically living completely asynchronously and not even acknowledging each other exist except for where it’s required for stuff like affording a house or whatever

There are currently three (3) dead roaches on the ground in my apartment's laundry facility. Nobody has bothered to move them for weeks at this point, one of them is a baby. Two of the four total washers are broken, one of which has been broken since I moved in over a year ago. Someone once threw out a full package of raw chicken breasts into the trash can in the laundry room and it took like two week for it to get cleaned up. But hey at least the landlord gave all of us gift bags last night.

omg raw chicken breasts start to smell absolutely putrid within a few days, you'd have to hold your breath to do laundry without vomiting

I just had an escastic vision of the future, here's what I saw.

After Gen Alpha, the most common way for young people to "watch" videos will be to ask ChatGPT to summarize the video. Instead of watching HBomberguy videos, you'll just ask ChatGPT what his main points were and then immediately start commenting/posting about it.

I warned you, you could have stopped all this. a-guy

Also, Hexbear no longer exists because of some bullshit with the EU but a group of programmers made ChapoGPT that simulates an individual's posting style. If you like how their language model posts, you can DM to hang out and play whatever they play in the future.

Struggling between the competing impulses of needing to take a job right away and wanting to keep my freedom of action during the day because I haven't given up on suing my friend for wrecking my life

Do you reckon it'd be possible to completely eradicate reactionary views or will there always be small groups of people that hold fascist views even under communism?

About to throw my laptop through the window because an Ion star decided to fucking cheat and let the AI ship have all its weapons and drones while turning off literally every system in my ship and letting it warp away when I was finally about to win with 2hp. Looking up save editors.

I should really cook dinner. But the caffeine is wearing off and I want to chill out for a bit, but if I do then I won't have time to make what I want in time for dinner time, but getting up and cutting stuff and then browning stuff and then you gotta get a plate for the first stuff so you can put in the other stuff. And I still gotta figure out part of what I'm gonna put in there. Plus my headphones are dying and I should charge them lest they leave my alone with my thoughts while I'm cooking . . . executive dysfunction is such a great concept for understanding my difficulty in getting up to go make dinner. However I still do not want to go cook dinner.

Enjoying a pine scented candle, an evening chai, the local community radio station, and learning to play OpenTTD. How's mother nature treating you all tonight? Have you eaten? Taken your meds? Are you thirsty? It's a cold night on the coast, here's hoping you all stay warm and dry.

Looks like r/blackepsteinfeed is in the process of getting nuked by Reddit admins. How the hell am I going to steal these podcasts now?

Side note, but blackepsteinfeed is one of the worst names for a subreddit maybe ever. I know it's supposed to be aping blackwolffeed (and, frankly, I don't know why the bootleg chapo feed was called black wolf in the first place), but it sounds like it's a sub for discussing the black Jeffrey Epstein.

Anyway, the two most recent episodes of Trueanon, 326 and 327, which are both up for free, are very good. 326 is an interview with a Palestinian activist, Akram Salhab. 327 is a two hour long interview with Finkelstein who, despite his recent weird anti-cancel-culture tack, has a refreshingly clear-eyed analysis of the genocide.
