I've got the Max paired with a VIVIDSTORM S PRO in my setup and can confirm everything you said about the picture quality. The deep blacks really shine on a good ALR screen.

Well, that's a poorly worded headline. Black is not something you're supposed to be able to see. It's whole thing is that you can't see it.
