You have no rights! (lemmy.world)
submitted 4 months ago by Mack2@lemmy.world to c/perchance@lemmy.world

When it comes to the use of Perchance, you have no rights. This is service provided for free by a private individual with no promises or guarantees. If you like the service then exhibit some patience and let the dev do their work. If you don't like the way things are progressing, by all means, find a new service. Stop with the demands and childish posts about how you're done using this service and that you're going to find a better one. Just leave. None of us need to know that your leaving. We all see the issues with the generators, and we either choose to be patient and support the dev, or leave. Why create more angst and hate? Enough with the entitled attitudes...you aren't entitled to anything from the dev. I hope you choose to stay and support the person who provides this amazing and free service. Either way, I hope you have an awesome day!! 😁

And none of them even think to consider that dev could just easily decide to TAKE THE WHOLE SITE DOWN FOREVER because of ungrateful spoilt kids who want everything, for free, in perfect condition, right now, and don't stop bitching about it.

So thank you for this post.🌈✌️

Losing Perchance would be a nightmare for me. I love my t2i page and the people who frequent it. My friend Quinerous and I have put a lot of work into it. It would be an absolute shame for the dev to feel like they are unappreciated and give up.

For me, too. but I'm more into t2t. I've basically started from zero with no knowledge whatsoever, but I've already learned so much about ai behaviour and surprisingly about myself. I hope some day I have the energy to try to understand coding a little bit, but atm, that's still final boss level for me πŸ˜…

Thank you. Entitlement is so fucking insane. Like yes, we can criticize but its the constant bitching and anger that makes me genuinely believe the dev should make a big fuck you post and close the service down. (Dont want it to, but honestly. I would not even blame him one bit)

Yea people need to be grateful for the image generation and other creative features i tried to find good alternatives but it seems like everyone else is just copying each other or is hyper censored .while perchance is actually trying something different even with the chat most sites just do the same stuff even if the underlaying technology is better for this. they limit how you can use it just because they can't think of other things its quite sad

Also, the same goes to regular users who throw a tantrum at the generator owner.

Absolutely!

I believe the same, I loved the old image generation and I'm grateful for this new one (i know that was a hot debate) and I keep using this waiting patiently to upgrades that I know will be coming. This is free, so at least give it some patience. ❀️

The title of this post is so out of pocket broπŸ’€

[-] Mack2@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

Why do you say that? It's a forum for Perchance so how could you think it was about anything else.

[-] Garth01@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Because it literally says "You have no rights" so you're implying that no one has rights.

[-] Mack2@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

In regards to Perchance they don't. It's a privately owned website. The owner can close it any time. Context matters.

[-] Garth01@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

You could have said "Users of Perchance do not have the right to complain". I believe that would be a better way to have worded it rather than saying "You have no rights" as you are implying that ALL people besides Perchance users have no rights. Context doesn't matter, implication does.

[-] Mack2@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

So your perception is really what matters here. Your assumption is that I was implying something beyond the context of this forum. Which is a false assumption. If I wanted to make such a bold and inflammatory statement it would have been on a forum that deals with politics. Why waste my time on a forum that deals specifically with Perchance if I was implying that nobody has rights?

I was wrong, you at least have the right to your own opinion. I disagree with your opinion and so we are at an impasse, and we have gone way off topic. I've made my point. Have a great day 😁

βš„οΈŽ Perchance

This is a Lemmy Community for perchance.org, a platform for sharing and creating random text generators.

Feel free to ask for help, share your generators, and start friendly discussions at your leisure :)

This community is mainly for discussions between those who are building generators. For discussions about using generators, especially the popular AI ones, the community-led Casual Perchance forum is likely a more appropriate venue.

See this post for the Complete Guide to Posting Here on the Community!

Rules

1. Please follow the Lemmy.World instance rules.

2. Be kind and friendly.

  • Please be kind to others on this community (and also in general), and remember that for many people Perchance is their first experience with coding. We have members for whom English is not their first language, so please be take that into account too :)

3. Be thankful to those who try to help you.

  • If you ask a question and someone has made a effort to help you out, please remember to be thankful! Even if they don't manage to help you solve your problem - remember that they're spending time out of their day to try to help a stranger :)

4. Only post about stuff related to perchance.

  • Please only post about perchance related stuff like generators on it, bugs, and the site.

5. Refrain from requesting Prompts for the AI Tools.

  • We would like to ask to refrain from posting here needing help specifically with prompting/achieving certain results with the AI plugins (text-to-image-plugin and ai-text-plugin) e.g. "What is the good prompt for X?", "How to achieve X with Y generator?"
  • See Perchance AI FAQ for FAQ about the AI tools.
  • You can ask for help with prompting at the 'sister' community Casual Perchance, which is for more casual discussions.
  • We will still be helping/answering questions about the plugins as long as it is related to building generators with them.

6. Search through the Community Before Posting.

  • Please Search through the Community Posts here (and on Reddit) before posting to see if what you will post has similar post/already been posted.
