"Every Little Thing She Does"

...Is a story about hypnosis. Also, this episode contains a Subtle™ LazyTown reference, and it's an interesting coincidence that it came out right when "We Are Number One" became a meme, although that isn't the reference. I'm also pretty sure this is the only episode to use the word "chillax".

"P.P.O.V. (Pony Point of View)"

...Is this show's Rashomon episode, in which Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie tell contradictory accounts of the sinking of a ship. There's also a subtle nod to the fact that MLP:FiM is animated in Vancouver in this episode in the form of the ensign on the ship.

"Where the Apple Lies"

...Is one I remember being pretty fun, it's a story about Applejack as a child lying to Filthy Rich for the sake of Business™, and causing a big mess at the hospital. Also, this episode violates the Geneva convention, and isn't even the first episode to do so. There's a lot of fun background gags in this episode, too, so keep your eyes peeled.

"Top Bolt"

...Is an episode about two Wonderbolt cadets having some friendship problems. I'm pretty sure the two cadets got shipped together a lot in the fandom and that the mare especially got a lot of fanart; the two cadets will have three cameos together after this point, but their dynamic will never be explored further.

This episode also has a fan-made pony OC named Angel Wings, belonging to and voiced by Lex Heule, who got her character into the show through Make-a-Wish. Angel Wings is therefore the second Make-a-Wish OC to be voiced by its creator in the show, after Stellar Eclipse back in season 4. Also, Angel Wings notably wears a distinctive bracelet signaling that she was created with GeneralZoi's Pony Creator, a popular fan-made Flash game for making pony OCs.

"To Where and Back Again"

...Is the two-part season finale, in which Discord, Starlight, Trixie, and Thorax venture into the Changeling Kingdom to rescue the Mane Six and Princesses. I'm pretty sure this is the only two-parter in which none of the Mane Six play a major role. This two-parter also ends with a status quo change which annoyed a lot of fans but is crucial set-up for future episodes.
