I think I have figured out Ted Cat's previous life. He was a stud cat, kept in a largish cage, never patted, never brushed, his only human contact to do with feeding, cleaning his cage. The only other cats were lady cats. And yet his nature is sweet and playful and friendly. He loves company. H won't stop eating crunchies so I have to restrict them. I think he'll turn out fine. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜ธ

Daily exercises completed. I thought I'd better do it now before I succumb to bloated wallowing after cooking Mr Ps birthday lunch. It turned out to be one of the nicest roasts I've ever done, followed by an awesome chocolate cake which the Minipeelers helped with. All I can offer you is a picture of what's left of the cake

Now I can indulge in bloated wallowing!

Either that is a tiny kettle or that is the biggest piece of cake in entire the world! Ha ha

I received the cat toys I ordered on Temu yesterday, and they seem to be a hit. I got one of those rings with trapped balls that roll around, and it is very light so moves around when she hits at the balls. I think that adds to the fun, and she seems quite convinced that there is a secret entrance to get at the balls from the inside as she keeps reaching in there to try and get them. The other toy is a small ball that vibrates periodically - I think its supposed to roll around by itself, but it just wobbles in place. That seems to be interesting enough for Miss Meow, and I think she believes it is an escaped ball from the ring toy as she has been playing with them together. I'm not sure how long it has before it is permanently lost under some furniture somewhere.

It does make me a bit sad I didn't realise her initial lack of interest in toys was because of the problems with her teeth. At least I can make it up to her a bit now. I might look into some other toys seeing as how well received these were.

Proud to say I have released the third book in my Van Diemen's Valley horror series - Revenge of the Flightless. Check it out if you have the time. Thanks :-)

Haven't been in Fitzroy in a while... Yong's Green Food has closed down! :( that's sad, many good memories of going there with friends from another era. It does feel really weird getting around on PT again after 4 years of driving, I feel like I'm going backwards inside but the surrounds are clearly different.

Been madly cleaning and tidying today for the second inspection as it's the wife coming through and as a rule they pick up what the guys miss (and vice versa). But I actually managed it, so now I'm flopped after a shower and all I have to do is add the finishing touches and put away a few last things. Phew!

All my stuff is out of my old place and into my new ๐ŸŽ‰ just a couple of things to drop at Vinnies and the end of lease clean to go.

I am a bit ashamed of how dusty the carpet is behind where some of the furniture was, and I can see all the marks and cobwebs on the walls. How much pre-cleaning do you do before getting in the cleaners? I am paying a reasonable price but I feel bad I haven't done more. Should I go and vacuum / wipe everything down tomorrow?

Pax day 2! Gosh, I didn't expect Rego to be hectic. I pretty much was on until my shift ended (I mean that's how shift work is lmfao but felt like there was no break to just breathe! Haha). Today is going to be even more hectic! But I am ready, locked and loaded.

Again, just checking in to say hi! Also was excited for tteokbokki last night, got it, and I just wasn't expecting how spicy it is. I should've gotten the non-spicy one. But I love tteokbokki so much ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Edit: also yesterday's final step count was 9.6k.

Home and in bed after an artsy afternoon and evening out. I thought I would feel like watching something but I actually really feel like books, which is great news for the pile of hideously overdue titles around the house. It was great getting out of the house and doing something a little different and mind-tickling.

But it made me reflect on my way home how desperately I want to be done with my job and my workplace; I shouldn't have stayed on on a casual basis. I need to finish this project asap and gtfo. I really am ready even to just sell everything up and go wwoofing for a year to catch up on all the things I never got to to when I was younger.

Hello. I have not been able to sign into lemmy on my new phone, not that I am so self-absorbed to think my absence was noted lol.

But I am alive :)

6.5k run with the doggo this morning. My longest run for about a year, and I feel great. Doggo looks very happy too. Was 5 seconds off a 30min 5k, which I'm pretty chuffed about to be honest.

I'm told the Weezer concert went well. I ate a whole bag of Twirls while the little dog watched. Everybody's gone to bed.

I have some serious questions. Do you use bleach? And if so why and on what? I know what it is but I've never had the need to use it. Ever.

Getting proud dad vibes watching my daughter working out SkyBlock on Minecraft for the first time. Back in my day it was figuring out Rick Dangerous 2 on C64.

Good start to the day - my Visa card reward for doing the milk study arrived and is now in Google Wallet waiting to be spent. I did have some issues getting it because the wallet was not installed in my phone, but I have now downloaded that (and paired my text messages with the tablet, as I initially didn't realise why the link didn't work and wanted to try opening it from there). Plus I still have the last $12 Coles voucher they sent during the study as I didn't need it for milk, for an extra bonus!

One uni assignment finished this morning, and I've sorted out my subject enrollment for next year. I was originally planning on doing a unit on Backyard Biodiversity, but after the gardening and house planning units I decided to swap in something completely different, and am doing "Living and Working with Cultural Diversity". I've also enrolled in another course after this, focusing on climate change - I was planning to do two subjects a semester, but the electives I want to do aren't available at the right time, so I have to do three subjects in first term next year.

If I'm still enthusiastic after that (and can get my financial ducks in a row) I plan to enroll in a double science (sustainability) and economics degree. Or maybe if there are still HECS waiver courses on offer I'll do another one of those - you can't get much better value than free!
