What's the sauce doing at the bottom of that carbonara? Carbonara doesn't have sauce .. I mean it looks like a nice pasta, but that's not carbonara
Posting about carbonara is a death sentence lmfao
Carbonara is life
It's so good
And the cookie is going to be soggy af in no time.
Only if you're slow.
It was more of a butter & slight oil. I wouldn't say "sauce".
It looks pretty thick from the image, carbonara needs to be combined during the cooking so the cheesy egg gets all over the pasta and absorbed while frying a bit
Italians hate it when you call something another thing. This isn't carbonara, but it can still be delicious.
I'm not a chef, I didn't label the menu. It certainly tasted like a carbonara dish.
If you enjoyed it then it’s fine.
What people are pointing out is the pool of sauce. If made well, the liquid would be fully emulsified and adhere to the pasta and not be pooling at all. The fact that it’s pictured like this in the menu is almost a crime in itself.
I plead ignorance, yet, full tummy 😉
The martinis are a legit glam shot. Nice work.
Very delicious.
They actually offer a flight of 4: Gelato Martinis.
Where’s the ham?
Where’s the peas?
Crisp prosciutto is present and not always made with peas.
What? You use pancetta or bacon if you can't get pancetta, maybe ham if you're really stuck but you should probably just make something else in that case.
It's never made with peas ..
Isn’t it traditionally made with guanciale?
This was with guanciale.
I love this now. Everyone on here pretending to know about carbonara (including me) , and getting it so wrong.
I honestly do not know an official Italian recipe. I don't cook. I eat.
The Bolognian's I know use pancetta, I'll take their word for it over Wikipedia.
My grandma’s worked most of new jersey’s bordellos I think she knows a thing or two about italian meat.
Well I'm sure she does
Here's from the menu:
Interesting, seems strange it would separate like that, maybe they're doing some kind of deconstructed carbonara
No clue. I don't cook at all. I just eat the yummy stuff.
